Bought them used as a set for a good price considering the Ownership Transfer Service that Heir offers - paying a lot less than a new 8A. In addition, they serve different purposes - one is more neutral, one is more bass oriented. (From my research) I couldn't pass it up. Heir even met me near my home to do the impressions - It couldn't have been easier.

Why do you need both customs and not at least get the 4.Ai instead?

Better fit. Isolation and even sound is generally different. This was my experience with the TF10 in universal and custom form. But in that case I preferred the universal lol.

Tralucent 1Plus2/Heir 8/Fit Ear 334/AKG3003.

I have no experience with any of those. The CK90pros with a proper seal (extremely important) and a bit of bass boost on occasion are just a delight, They don't shine at subdued volume and they can benefit being amped. They are very very critical as to what source you listen to. I have a Cowon J3 that pairs very nicely with them and also a Sony DAP but less good with my Sansa. Also mine are not the MKII.

FitEar C435 > 335DW = TG!334 > UM Miracle = JH13 > UE900 > W4 > SE535 Ltd > SE535 > Heir 5.0 > Heir 4ai
These are all BA iems, but if include hybrids and dynamics iems, IE800, AKG3003, Merlin, ASG-2 will be somewhere there also.

I haven't heard many, but the TG!334 was easily the best that I've heard.

That is interesting.

I thought this thread was the best balanced armature thread, not best >2 = x amount of driver IEM thread. Best balanced armature would have to be the DBA's by Fischer Audio.

If off topic, best CIEM for me would be the UE18's.
