For what it's worth and when it comes to sound, I've heard that the Pro 550 (DJ-1 Pro) are the quieter, higher ohm version of the HFI-580 (DJ1).  I own the DJ-1 and I really like the headphones, but they can become uncomfortable after a few hours of use.  As far as I'm concerned, all four headphones sound exactly the same, and the DJ-1 are AMAZING for EDM.

Thanks for the info SkitZ0. one last question are the pro 750s better for edm than the 550s? If they arent then I will probably just get the HFI 580s because they are punchier, but if ths 750s offer higher soundquality then the 550s I'll probably get them.

Actually, the Pro 550 are part of the Pro series, with its counterpart being the DJ1 Pro. The DJ1 is the louder version of the HFI-580. The Pro 550 is separate from the HFI-580 just like the DJ1 Pro is separate from the DJ1.

But I do agree that they all do perform quite nicely with EDM.

The PRO-550 seems like a very balaced sounding can to me. I own one for over 2 years now. It is very comfortable. The pleather pads are softer and deeper than the velour pads of the PRO-2900 or the HFI-2400. The sound is more balanced, which means they have no prominent highs nor bass.

Wait, isn't the DJ1 the same exact headphone as the HFI 580 except a different design and a coiled cable instead of a straight cable?

Probably bassy, But I want a large soundstage.

The HFI 580 has a lot of bass, but has a very narrow soundstage. The PRO 550 doesn't have a large soundstage, but does have a great deal of bass. The PRO 750 have a larger soundstage than the 550 and are an extremely detailed and bright headphone with nice bass, but I wouldn't call it bassy. Does this clear things up for you? :)

I shall take your word for it and purchase the 750s then, thank you very much for the help!

Edit: Might I ask how long of a burn in period do they need and what way I should burn them in? Could I just put an iPod on shuffle with them at normal listening level or should I put em in an amp?
