UE sent me a VI cable to replace my stock cable, and it's softer and less stiff than the stock cable which is good, but it's an I-jack and there's no chin slider for obvious reasons. I'm sure it sounds the same.

Nice Eric! Really good you have a pair of the 4 along with you're past history of phones should give some excellent insight. One question. Do they have foam in the sound tube similar to the EX600? Would be good to know they have a bit of modding potential for those who do find the mids recessed or too much bass. I needed to do that on my EX600 since they didn't have that much treble and a bit too much foam. I'm sure that the XBA-4 will have better quality control than the EX600 did(at least my pair) but good to know if a bit of reversible tweaking is possible with the XBA-4.
Hello jant71, and thank you. Yes, there is foam in the sound tubes.

My long-winded review of the TF10's is up. Recessed mids? What recessed mids?
Link please.

They do, but only for their five minute lifespan.

Are you gonna try and contact Fiio to see if they will replace the cable? I had build issues with my Fiio LOD for my Sansa Fuze (horrible built quality) and the only solution for that was to super glue the pieces together.
Fiio is generally very helpful when it comes to warranty support. Give them a ring.
I'm going through the same LOD issue right now. Nothing some glue won't fix, but it's just annoying that it happened.

Yeah I never understood why the Sansa LOD was so poorly made in comparison to the iphone/ipod ones. I mean I literally RMA'd 3 of the Sansa LODs and gave up on the 4th time and just glued it myself...

I was looking for the Fiio cable for my TF10's - Amazon says "currently unavailable" - is there another vendor?
I like the idea of the cable omitting the memory wire - my IE8's go over the ear without it - and are much more comfortable.

the only UE compatible cable with a remote is the Beat audio cable. ~$250 usd, the last time i checked.

The 3.5mm plug or the headphone plugs that go into the TF10 itself?

At the 3.5mm plug. It's my third cable so far I've gone through.

People could try the extender cable part to help take the stress off the plug. Also the vi cable is much better.
