All playlist moved to the FiiO are spread across both drives.  Folders are created for albums in the folder view plus the playlist list(s) are added.  Want all songs?  Make a Smart "All" playlist, in iTunes of all songs and whenever you add to iTunes it automatically goes into "All"  and when you re-sync, bingo :)

Perhaps I'm daft, but I still don't understand what you mean by "all playlist moved to the FiiO are spread across both drives."  Do you mean that a single external playlist can be created that includes songs from SD1 and SD2?

So let's say song A is on SD1 and song Z is on SD2.  Can I create a playlist that has both Song A and Song Z on it?

If so, does anyone know how to do this on a PC?  From everything I've tried it doesn't seem possible.  Even if you include the paths it doesn't seem to work.

OK, I guess it is possible.  You just have use "tf1" and "tf2" for the root directories.  Like so:

#EXTM3U
tf1:\ABBA\1973 - Ring Ring\02. Another Town, Another Train.mp3
tf2:\Natalie Prass\2015 - Side By Side\02 - Caught Up in the Rapture (Live At Spacebomb Studios).mp3

I just create a playlist in mediamonkey with SD1 as drive "X" and SD2 as drive "Y."  I then just open the playlist in wordpad. add #EXTM3U to the first line and "find and replace" x:\ with tf1:\ and y:\ with tf2\

If anyone knows an easier way let me know (not that this is terribly hard).  There's a ton of conflicting instructions on how to create playlists for the x5ii on the net.  And Fiio's instructions on their forums are downright awful.

Hello Juan,

As far as I can see you're doing a swell job, for what you want to do. In my guide I recommended leaving out the drive letter because it's easier that way--but that doesn't allow you to create a playlist that plays songs from both cards.

Best regards,
Joe for FiiO

Im at work and the search button does not work on my computer for some reason, anyways, I forget if there was an issue with the battery icon showing if it is fully charged. I have been charging the X5 for about 6 hours and it is still blinking instead of being solid. And yes it is the newest fw.

This might be normal. It happened to me all the time, depending from what I was charging, if I was using it at the same time.

If you can do a reset, then put back to charge, it should show full, if it is full.

Same for my work! There's a lot of forum functions I don't have access to at work. I think it has something to do with Flash. Perhaps it's restricted by their firewall, or some rubbish.

Hi guys, i'm still stuck in a dilemma. I'm using an x1 with cayin c5 right now (items include KZ ate, AT IM70, Havi B3 pro 1)
while i love the clarity , punch and forwardness of the x 1 , i'm wondering if the x5 first gen would give me a much better resolution, space and soundstage. I've read up enough on the sq of x5 to know it is more 'audiophile' but i can't really decide with the reviews comparing x1 and x5. Anyone can chime in with comparisons t o justify spending an extra $300 on a second hand x5 first gen? thanks!

So I ordered X5 and I can see it's an awesome product, but the treble is so harsh I can't listen to it. The detail is definitely noticed, the resolution and clarity but my ears are screaming. I use Soundmagic E80, HP150 and have previously had the same issue with Sennheiser HD598. My gear is iPod 5.5 + Fiio E6 and that sounds great to me but I wanted a step up in clarity.

I got it but the treble on X5 is so harsh it hurts my ears like hell. I just can't get back to it and I had to make excuses like 'maybe i can tweak the eq" just to force myself for another try. :( Anyone else with this experience? Do I just have treble sensitivity?

Sources: 320kbs, and almost any music. Flac or not shouldnt make a case, this isnt a resolution or detail issue.

I have no idea what you are experiencing. Treble on X5 is clearer and a little more energic than on Ipod, but should not make this much of a difference... Either a faulty unit, you are very sensitive to treble, or you had some sort of eq in your past setup that would cut off treble. By a long shot, treble in X5 is barely enough for someone like me, using Ie800, which are treble happy much... Maybe you need adjusting to the new sound?

Interesting, I'm also treble sensitive. I can't even use Grado 325's because of the brightness, but I hadn't noticed that effect from the x5. I will say that the unit sounds very different with different headphones.
I'm curious if it's the effect of the amp or the dac. Have you tried playing it through another amp or through speakers?

In my humble experience that is not normal.  I have an ipod 5.5 and E6 and the combo is not even close in sound quality to the X5.  X5 should not be  "so harsh it hurts my ears like hell" , no quality DAP should do that. IMHO & YMMV.

i think it is about synergy,

I had an asg 2 before that i used with dx50 and enjoyed too much, whrn i upgraded to x5, i found unbearable sibilance that i couldn't adjust to, and i eventually sold the asg 2.

for me the dx50 was warmer then x5, and the asg 2 treble was a bit bright,
may be try another warm iem, it should work fine,

Its about mix and match, thats my humble opinion.

The only explanation I can come up with is you are finally hearing your headphones, and not liking their sound.
