If by modded you mean the custom themes found here on Head-fi, then no. Those are visual tweaks only, and don't influence function.

Stay away from those PNY 128gb cards. Pure junk and they will screw you on the RMA.

How do you use it with a portable amp and bands? It's such an awkward setup. They get in the way.

well, original microsd from samsung are like 60$ in Romania, and even cheaper in other places. 
 
like 2 times of those PNY, but you know they will last.

The X5 is not android-based, so there's no way to install an apk.

Thanks for the reply Zenifyx, I just assumed it was. Do you know of any DAPs that are Android based that are decent and would support Tidal? I'm (obviously) a newbie when it comes to DAPs, lol.

Is that for certain? I've been looking about today for DAPs and I saw the X7 is unreleased. I tend to exclusively use Tidal along with my HE-560's and Schiit stack, but I am looking toward getting a decent DAP and a pair of Noble Audio custom IEMs, it'll be a little pointless if I can't strema Tidal, I don't have a whole lot of 16/44, 24/96 or 24/192 in FLAC.

The X7 has been for sale for awhile now. I have had the X7 for the tour, if you go to the X7 thread you can read all about how it works and there are plenty on Amazon for sale as well as many other places. It is Android based and you can download Tidal and Spotify.

I can also confirm Tidal works on the FiiO X7. I installed it and set up an account just for my review. It connected and streamed without problem.

I then immediately cancelled my account, so that my credit card statement would not surprise me next month.
