The Fiio X5 Thread
Dec 8, 2014 at 1:53 PM Post #14,103 of 19,652
  Hello,

I think about buying the X5 + 2x 128gb mucro-sd card to have my music collection always with me. All in all not the cheapest solution.

It is essential for me to have m ycollection accessable in my car too.
Has anyone ever tried to connect the Fiio X5 to Comand Online 4.5 (Mercedes radio)? Comand Online works fine with Ipod Classic. Unfortunately the haddrive is broken (and its getting too small anyway  ).

Cheers
Marcus

I connect my X5 via the line out to the aux in of my truck & it sounds great. However, there is no function for the truck stereo to control the X5 like it can for an iPod/iPhone. I have to do everything on the X5 itself.

I have not heard of the X5 fully integrating with any vehicle.

When Fiio has sold 55 million of these things you will. Only 54,990,000 to go.

  Hello all,

I saw somewhere in this thread people complaining about a slight crackling sound from heir X5. I too can hear a slight crackling sound on my X5. Doesn't happen all the time, just randomly. more on the left channel.  I can hear it when using my Beyer T51p's since they are pretty sensitive and revealing.  Could really replicate it on my cheap IEM's (apple, samsung, HTC and Xiaomi piston 2.1), maybe because they cant resolve the sound in the first place. My music is mainly FLAC and WAV. Max 44.1/16 direct CD rips.  I tested the beyers on a different rig and couldn't replicate it - so looks like its not the headphones. Did anyone who suffered from the same issue find a resolution to it?

Well, I found the actual reason behind this and I feel exceedingly stupid now..... So, I use my dap on my train journey to work and back.  I noticed this weird crackling sound which seems to occur randomly.  After more than a month of trying to isolate the issue it dawned on me that the problem was my work mobile phone!! The dang thing emits some kind of EM interference (NFC, Radio, BT...god knows what) and it makes my X5 crackle!!! On my way to work Ive got the X5 on my lap and my work mobile in my hand (going through emails etc..).  So absolute DUH moment but i'm glad i managed to identify the root cause (notwithstanding the embarrassment!)... My personal mobile doesn't impact the X5 in any way.  So..if you guys hear a crackle and pop, keep your mobile away from it!  Btw, work phone is a Samsung Note 3 and personal is a HTC One M8. That Note 3 must be a bloody microwave.... maybe fried brain cells can be attributed to my dumb moment.
