Oh man, I'm still so fond of that ''classic'' X5 design.
Good (sq) pairing with that specific iem?
Great LC album too!

Leather punches work great for this....

I am still running 2.5 right now but will update to 2.6 tonight. I just found out about it today.
I noticed one big item mentioned in the 2.6 is "6. Improved the sensitivity and consistency of the scroll wheel response."
The wheel is one of my biggest complaints on the X5. Can someone running 2.6 right now tell me if it really fixed the wheel issue?

It does not fix the wheel issue. It makes it bearable, though. It's more precise and less schizophrenic.
Still not perfect, but I no longer consider sending in my X5 for repair. I was very close to doing so before the update.

Thanks for the info. I can't wait to try it out.
It says the 2.6 is the Final Firmware for the X5. So I think that's it for us X5 users.....no more improvements.

Thank you Kerouac .Xiaomi Piston 2.1 was very good iem for the price, but X5 deserve better headphones...I'm thinking to buy Shure Se535 in the future.

Did anything help?
I have the same problem. The response I got from Fiio support is:
"FW2.6 Beta is designed to solve this issue. "
It didn't. They ask to send the unit back to China..
I wonder - when putting the unit in jz4760 boot mode (lower left button while turning one) the unit is recognized (as JZ4760 boot device), so the USB port itself is not damaged.
Anyhow my unit isn't recognized neither in storage on in DAC mode...

Just got my x5 and loaded some music onto it. I uploaded an album of FLAC files and updated the media library. I see the files in my TF Card and I can play them from there no problem, but it wasn't indexed in the main music library. Not sure what I missed here. Everything else seemed to transfer.

it should work after updating the media library. strange that it doesn't.

Not to mention several bugs still firmly in place.

It turns out that it's just one album that won't export. Just happened to be the first FLAC lp I loaded. Weird, because it's the FLAC files that came free with the purchase of the vinyl (Nick Cave), nothing piratey about it.

I'm using my X5 as a DAC/AMP for my Macbook Pro. The DAC is pretty good, but it's not as amped as my audioengine d3. I really have to crank the volume to about 80% to get results with my hd600's (even on high gain). With the d3, I only the turn the volume up to about 40%.

This is correct, and in line with what I experienced.
Probably could help if you would be using a high power amp, like Fiio E12, if you feel that it is under-powered.
