Couple boxes today.

C01 cable ranged between 0.1 and 0.2 ohms.

Étude bass is very different. It's separated from the rest of the fr. Quite similar to Pula Anvil but more emphasis on that hollow echoey effect. Not a basshead set, since the bass rumble is less sonics and more of a tactile sensation. This keeps mids very clean. No sibilance for me. It's a unique set that will require some brain burn. Tip selection has a huge effect on this one.

Edit: The Sound of Silence by Disturbed sounds pretty massive. This is gonna be a good set for concert hall tracks. Zombie by Bad Wolves is pretty badass on the Étude, tons of impact.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share some shots of my audio EDC that I took while getting coffee yesterday: the IO Audio Volare and the Moondrop Dawn Pro!

I'm happy to see the Volare getting a good amount of love in this thread lately, it's a really special IEM for the price. I also think that the Moondrop Dawn Pro is a super underrated dongle and I would love to see more products with its form factor (4.4mm balanced only with integrated cable).

What are currently some of the best single DD iems for male vocals?

I currently have Kato and fd15 and am seeking an upgrade over them.

anybody have heard this surprisingly super competitively priced planar hybrid yet?

i mean....only new other similar IEM is Simgot ET142, which i dislike quite abit (silver nozzle way-best technical performance way)....

130$ for 14.8mm planar + 9layers piezo should intrigue some, not just me i guess.

to follow!

Great realese from them, really enjoyed my demo last week. Will be getting a review unit soon, design is not as bad as I thought from first online renders. Defenitely had the CFA bass I love, and is packed in a more normal tuning than most CFA models.

Also you should see if you can get a loan of Clara, impressive dynamic set. More V shaped than Alien Brain, as I understand Alessandro and CFA took the Bonneville as inspiration since Bonny was his favorite CFA model.

Been immersed in jazz music for the past few weeks, so for the rest of the day, this is going to be a metal music day as I make my way thru a traditionally slow day (Memorial Day), with some new system lab time at work, so I'll be cranking up the intensity, starting with my home town splatter punk heroes The Accused. Went to school with two of these fellas, and for a short time, three of the four members. :metal: :metal:

Starting off with last night's rig. Softears Volume S + Sony NW-ZX100!!

The Accused - More Fun than an Open Casket Funeral (1987).

Where do you rank your Volume S in your iem list?

Wow yeah, I mean this as a compliment but you are quite critical and listen to a LOT of IEMs, so this makes me even more excited.

Edit - btw are you still enjoying the Odyssey? That was another I remember you liked, and I was looking at it as well.
About the the odyssey.
The odyssey are very special iems to me.
They have silky smooth sound with soft and lush treble.
Usually, iems with this kind of tuning bored me a lot, but there is something in the Odyssey tuning that attach me to the music and I'm not getting bored from them at all.
I don't know what it is, because they don't have anything outstanding.
Bass, mids, treble, soundstage are on a good level but nothing is stand out.
This why they are so special.
Himalaya for example, they are superior to the odyssey in every way, stronger bass, more natural and accurate mids, wider soundstage, more detailed and sparkle treble and better technical capabilities but they sound "normal".
The odyssey has a sound that makes you not wanting to stop listening to music.
Immersive, unique and engaging sound.
Are they better than iems like the armor? No.
But they give different and more unique approach to the sound.
Both are fun in different ways.
"Odyssey" is a proper name for those iems.
I have a local audiophile group of people and when they tried the odyssey, those iems were their 2nd favorite iems (after the SLT6).
So my answer to your question is yes.
I absolutely still enjoy them.
