I felt like the Plutus Beast would end up being a bit more niche/specialized than what I was looking for, since I listen to a very diverse range of genres... though I think a side-by-side comparison of the two would be interesting!
Plutus body needs to touch your ear to make this BC driver work. So the thing might just don't fit to your ear properly, and I saw one negative in local chat describing that.

Meanwhile KZ tuners somewhere: "12? 13?!? Frequencies go that high? Uhh numbers go that high?!!"
KZ PR2 v2 was a banshee shoutfest for me, so, sometimes even a KZ pokemon goes there  .

The Beautiful Kinera Verdandi

Just finished my review on the Verdandi, one of the most beautiful IEMs I have seen.
It has an energetic and fun sound profile, with a holographic and immersive soundstage.
Feel free to read, cheers.

The AlphaOmega RA have landed. A very comfortable pair of IEMs with ergonomics and adequately sized shells.

OOTB and paired with Hiby R8 II, the RA are not sounding V-shaped, more U-shaped. Much better vocal presence as I have expected. High-freq are under control yet open enough. Bass has impact in the sub- and mid-register, with very limited bleed into the mids. Like that a lot!

X-post from my ootb impressions from the official RA thread.

The RA will be a commercial success for the following reasons:
  1. Customization options and incredible aesthetics.
  2. Ergonomics shells that will please audio enthusiasts with ears on the smaller size.
  3. Fun-Balanced tuning. The graph suggests a quite marked V/U-shaped tuning, but it's not the case. Bass, vocals and higher-frequency are very nicely tuned. The 7Khz peak allows a welcomed sense of clarity before the curve drops, making the treble smooth but not rolled-off.
  4. Correctly priced for what you get in terms of sound and built-quality.
  5. Nice cable and set of accessories (quality over quantity philosophy).
Btw, I paid the full retailed price for my RA.

2024 Spring Survey - Top 3 IEMs

First thanks to all for participating, we had a total 42 participants. What is interesting is seeing how many different IEMs have been entered, 91 in total. Plenty of IEMs with only one 1 vote, clearly shows how we all differ in either what we prefer or maybe what we can afford to buy.

Average cost of all the IEMs is $608, this is something I did not expect. Had expected that the average to be at least halved. Quite a few sets that push up the average cost, also the sets with the most votes being close to the $600.

This is all the sets that got 2 or more votes, also interesting seeing that the top 3 all have 6 votes each. They are also fairly new models.

Here I just added up the brands with 3 or more entries, AüR Audio having the most with 14 entries. But if we count Penon together with ISN and TSMR it's a total of 21, this is since all the brands are owned by Penon.

I tried my best counting and using excel to get data gathered, I am human so I wouldn't be shocked if I made an error somewhere.

Time to continue the reviews, Mr Grumpy is watching me procrastinate.

Nice to see Penon flexing some muscle...

I really like the sound of my PR3 but the mids are too disappointing.
Any advice with the same kind of sound and stage, under 200€ ?

Hidizs MP145 has a huge soundstage. Better timbre than most planar IEMs, has 3 tuning nozzles to vary tonality a bit.

But the shells are huge, so those with smaller ears might have an issue. Best if it can be auditioned first, or perhaps buy from somewhere with a robust returns policy, in case the fit is a no go.

TRN Azure Dragon (14.6mm Planar, tuning nozzle) apparently going to be priced at $205 (on earlybird discount)
above both Hidizs MP145 and Tangzu Heyday...

I wonder whether they are that confident or the product will be D.O.A

You know, this IEM is the only case where I have people getting angry and accusing me of making up BS and elitism because I don’t sing praise about it 😂
