Butastur is slowly getting equipped to become my favourite next to AüR Audio Aurora.
20230909_152544~2.jpg

I find Butastur insanely sensitive to sources, tips and cables, so it will take some time to get to fully understand this great creation.

I currently most like the following setup: S23 --> Penon Tail Dongle --> NiceHCK BlackCat --> Tri Clarion. All in the duty of adding a bit of warmth.

On some sources, like the Venture Electronics stack (which is tremendous for most gear and has all the power you could ever want!), it sounds very sterile and too bright at certain genres.
@AmericanSpirit say's that the ADV class A tube Amp pairs really well with it.
Might be worth checking it out

Interesting device. This text caught my eye:

Working mode 1: Class A single ended, input {3.5 headphone jack} output {3.5 headphone jack} toggle switch formula: up right

Working mode 2: Class A parallel connection, input {3.5 headphone jack} output {3.5 headphone jack} toggle switch formula: bottom left

Working mode three: Class A balance, input {4.4 headphone jack} output {4.4 headphone jack} toggle switch formula: upper left

One can surmise that you need a balanced 4.4mm input from DAC or DAP in order to enjoy a balanced 4.4mm output. This is a bit different from my Little Bear B4-X, which only has a 3.5mm single-ended input, but you can get a balanced 2.5mm output from it.

@RikudouGoku might have written about this device before. I remember searching for review to buy this little amp, and I ran across some unfavourable impressions regarding loudness and noise floor. May or may not be from Riku, as my memory is fuzzy now.

In deed. When did you start reping YanYin? Great earphones from the group for certain.
Just last month! I noted a new review on the Canon II on Z reviews, wondered where the company itself was at to take note of it, didn't find anything (other than sales pages on online stores), found and had a chat with the owners and things just rolled on from there :) I still rep HiBy as well obviously and both companies are aware of this and are ok with it 👍👍

Had the infamous Triple Drivers, it's really the epitome of selling out to reviewers because these IEMs are not good.

Triple Driver evokes that KZ Krila drama from a few weeks ago because most people who reviewed the TD probably got paid :moneybag::money_mouth:
The 1More Triple Driver are the best IEMs I've ever had. They sound incredibly neutral without overemphasizing bass or treble. They can get quite loud enough to damage my hearing without any noticeable distortion. Comparing them within the 1More family, they sound way more neutral than the Quad Drivers which are skewed towards the bass and are a bit more muffled and boomy. There's nothing wrong with them and they are definitely very good, especially for the price. My music sounds as good as it ever has with the Triple Drivers and compares favorably with my home stereo (Marantz processor).

That being said, I'd like to hear the new Penta Driver models to compare to the Triple Drivers.

I can't buy into the Triple Driver hate. They're surprisingly good.

i agree, i haven't got anything against hybrids, i've only tried a few, all pretty cheap, and even they sound good enough.

I had the 1More Triple Drivers too, and loved them!
That was many days ago! I reviewed them too, back in January of 2017.

Another ad....

I replied though to note that a company selling premium tips and not giving their measurements (at least I could not find it easily browsing through) seems to misplace their business to aesthetics.
I was further disappointed trying to make Wan'er work - to me, it feels like a pretty shell housing a moderately capable DD.

Another company that was more about aestherics was Muse (almost rhymes with Moose) - and only their cable seemed to work reasonably well (there, yep - pretty colours, sculpted connectors, and many audiophiles start to hear things, even without adding silver/copper/alloys or "premium" "rhodium/palladium" - ultimately evident in the recent pun of NiceHCK with lanthanides and brass along the lines of hangcoater wires...)
This actually strongly support that visial impressions (up to 90% of our total information input) have significant contributions to psychoacoustic placebo perceptions.

P. S. I am not trying to say by any means that I am able to stay immune to this effect.
I still perceive Princess Le as a nice IEM, would order Celest largely for their presentation, and time to time like to go with my imagination wild fitting differently coloured cables and enjoying imagining their special properties - in blue cables I believe (and have a good theory to support it) :)

So if you like them what do they sound like and are they worth £68 in today's market is the bass strong?

I'll be more precise.. I like them aesthetically.. I have no idea how they might sound..
(I imagine they won't be in the slightest comparable to any IMR, but sometimes these products turn out to be surprising. I'm thinking of the 41t for example)
