out of curiosity i got it as well and feel maybe i got a bad unit, there is tooooo much treble and bass is lacking.

but still for the price i think its good, would work more on tuning, as there is potential for it

also got the Jiu dsp and that is really not good at all
Either bad unit or you aren't getting a good seal. It could be many factors. You might want to try out different eartips (I'm using SpinFit CP145) and play with insertion depth.

Z300 definitely doesn't have too much treble and it definitely isn't lacking bass, especially when using the stock copper cable.

Nope. Not looking for budget downgrades or side grades. I'm looking for UPGRADES. Why? When you combine the cost of all these budget side and downgrades, it adds up to a mid-fi champ. This is for entry into hi-fi, and noobies. Not for those dedicated to upping the IEM game.

The new $25 IEM isn't for you lol. It's for people looking for a cheap IEM to start out with or a beater IEM to use casually or working out with. Cadenza is that IEM for me.

KZ Ling Long

A wild Pokémon appeared, seems like rough travel for this little box. Good they provide a small hardcase.

Can give some impressions later, only other bullet style IEM that I have is Quarks DSP.

Looks solid built to be this cheap, and first impression of the sound is good.

I appreciate what Lee tries to achieve and his great finesses to achieve that bright but not peaky sound. But the Gaea does not have the technical chop to go toe to toe with the Monarch II. Despite the bright and artificially detailed sound, it is actually not more resolving than Andromeda (which is already TOTL anyway, so not bad). The stock EA cable is also one of the most annoying cable I have ever handled. I was going to buy a discount Gaea, but ended up going after a used U12T instead.

Still looking for something cheaper than the U12T to carry around every day, since if I break the U12T, I certainly cannot afford a replacement any time soon. Both the SA6II and Blessing 3 have small quirks that I'm not happy with. JD7 lacks the resolution. P5, Orchestra Lite, Legato, etc. are not "there" one way or another. So the search goes on.You guys just happen to tag along with my "reviews" as I search for that mythical mid-fi IEM that matches the U12T  Maybe I need to try something from AuR.

How much is your range for the top midfi you are after?
You may want to try Sony IER-M7. Below $500, reference tuning like u12t, warm, full BA like u12t, great mids, great imaging. Soundstage width arent that wide but they have great depth. Every note have body, detailed with warm presentation.
I like them better than S8

If you need it to be cheaper-beater set that has u12t-esque sound i would recommend the KZ AS16 Pro.

But if you're willing to go higher priced, then @DynamicEars suggestion of the M7 is definitely a great choice, also i would add the 7th Acoustics Supernova to the list

How does the 7th Acoustic Supernova compare to the M7 or some other midFI IEMs?

Read many good things about it, but it is hard to access to audition or demo.

That's the Z300 and the Lings for me. Cadenza when the fancy hits me.

The Supernova is more in the same level as the M9 than the M7.

They sound quite similar to each other too, that if you have one i don't think you need to have the other one.

Any impressions on the K5 ? Can you please tell us how it compares to the SR5?

Edit: well, good or not, at $107 at Aliexpress I couldn't resist 😅 Just ordered one ! And shout out to EPZ customer service on the Aliexpress store, they answer to my message right away and the attendant was super nice 👏
Yeah I ordered those too, but I did it a week ago, the customer service is honestly insane, they replied after a minute of me asking a question. Grabbed those for ~90 bucks, cannot wait to listen to them

I get the notion that the 7th Acoustics Supernova is tone masterclass.

You know an IEM is good when Precog loved it, he is one of the most critical IEM reviewers out there if not the most critical possibly edging out Crinacle.

It even sports a very novel tuning chamber system which controls the 8k region.

A ton of people would probably have this IEM on hand if it wasn't made by a small Indonesian brand who only sells the Supernova via Facebook and build time can take over 2 months from what've heard.

This one is in my radar though I'm not sure if I'm willing to wait over 2 months.

So pretty,
i hope the sound is as pretty as the shell design.
It's so cheap, and apparently I have already broken my rule on no cheap IEMs this year. So one is ordered.

And yes the design is cool and unique.

On cheap IEM news,

KZ EDXS
(1 DD with circuit tuning/passive filter, $12)
https://www.kztws.com/collections/all-products/products/kz-edxs

Seems to be KZ New 10 mm DD with new "better" circuit tuning or now they refer to it as "passive filter"

Was there an FR for this one? I've put my order in because I appreciate the bullet form factor.

I bought the Supernova after watching Precog's review and couldn't be happier. One of my favorite all-rounder iems. Great sound, great customer service. It was definitely worth the wait.
