Alright, good good, I like seeing the differences in opinions here on the Estrella, I’m going to be honest with you guys, I really want to be as careful as possible bringing that IEM up considering the situations it’s gotten me in up to this point… I swear that IEM has single handedly caused more than a handful of arguments at this point and I just don’t wanna deal with it anymore

But I see both of your points here, 100% I too wish the bass quality was better and I also wish the upper mids were lower to allow the rest of fr to breath a little, those are literally my two complaints in my review so I think you guys hit that nail right on the head

Except that the upper mids energy is what makes the Estrella sound like itself. It's a dynamics beast. I wouldn't have it any other way. As for the bass, I'm learning that I probably just don't like dual DD (pseudo-isobaric) bass. I have yet to hear a dual-DD config that doesn't end up smearing the low end (is "mud butt" too graphic?). Just not my thing. If FatFreq can get insane and clean bass levels with just one DD in their hybrid configs, there's no point to having two. It doesn't even out the bass response; it just seems to make it worse IMO.

As for the other posters here who can't seem to accept that other people like things they don't (or haven't even heard), eff em. Just hit the ignore button and move on. We should all be able to share our own experiences here. Otherwise, what's the point of this place?

Agreed. The prototype faceplate looks much more like woven black reeds. Not amazing, but at least something unusual. However, the new design just looks like ugly steel plating.

My only brand specific request for 2025 is for FiiO to dip their toes into the R2R/tube portable DAC/Amp market. If they can figure out how to make an R2R dongle or BT dongle for under $300, I am in 100% and immediately at that.

I would be ecstatic if FiiO could license the IP of the makers of the Qudelix-5K & dominate the world of portable, BT DAC/Amps
