I know the SR9 but what is the wireless mod setup? Thnx…

It's the iFi Go Pod... a bit pricey for BT wireless ear loops, but they sound really good for BT adapters.

The Ziigaat Nuo was delivered last night, so I was eager to start my comparison to the Tripowin Piccolo today. A head-to-head may not be fair, but these two models have similar single DD drivers and are in the same price point.

So, I swapped my Dunu S&S tips from the Piccolo to the Nuo and am listening to the same album I listened to yesterday with the Piccolo, Jason Isbell's new "Live from the Ryman, Vol. II." Figured it was about the most direct comparison I could make.

And so far ... the Nuo is fine. I would have been stoked to own it at $16 I paid for it on sale at Amazon. But the Piccolo exists at $10, and the Nuo isn't as good as the Piccolo, at least with this album and some other tracks with the S&S tips.

First, before even the sonics, the Nuo cable is straight ass. Even in the realm of ultra-budget sets, it sucks. The Piccolo's stock cable never will be mistaken for a $300 Penon cable, but it's better than the Nuo.

Now, to the sound. The imaging and separation of the Nuo and the Piccolo are excellent and similar, especially for an ultra-budget set. Not holographic, but not narrow. Timbre also sounds accurate to me, a hallmark of many single DDs.

My biggest quibble and surprise with the Nuo is the bass. There's more than the Piccolo, and I think it's a bit too much. The mid-bass definitely bleeds into the mids, eclipsing the vocals slightly and making them a bit more recessed than the Piccolo. I love mid-bass more than sub-bass, but this mid-bass is a bit sloppy.

The treble also is weird. On some tracks, it sounds veiled. On other tracks, it sounds a bit crispy and grainy.

I'm not a measureabator, but I did check Paul Wasabi's Squig of these two sets, and the squiggles bear out what I'm hearing. The Nuo shows slightly more sub-bass and more prominent peaks and glare in the treble. https://pw.squig.link/?share=Tripowin_Piccolo,Ziigaat_Nuo

VERY early days. More tip-swapping and genre-hopping to come. I can see why people dig the Nuo; it's excellent for $16. But right now, it lacks a certain refinement and sonic polish and balance of the Piccolo. The Nuo sounds like a very good budget set; the Piccolo sounds like a very good $100 set, and I got it for one-10th the price.

If anyone has had problems ordering the Dita Audio Project M in their country (e.g. in Europe), Hifigo has now added them to their shop:

So... Favorite IEM(s) for up $300 so far, and why if able.

Edit: Or just plain headgear at this point.
Depends on whether it's an only set under $300 or another set under $300.

For an only set, I'd say the Sivga Que ($70). It's a pleasant, warm all-rounder with excellent DD timbre and a fantastic set of accessories.

For a second+ set, I'd say the Dita Project M ($289 open box from Musicteck). Not everyone's cup of tea, but for those of us who like it, we tend to really like it. A highly technical set with outstanding low-end and comfortably relaxed upper mids.

HiBy R4 Eva

Mini Hardware Experience Update

The Boot time are neck and neck. But the Original R4 Loads a little faster without the extra screens.

After 14 hours of Transferring content to the 1.5 TB SD Card, I scanned the tracks onto HiBy App.

I managed to achieve the same Total of songs. Just need to copy over the playlists at some stage.

FullSizeRender.jpeg

Using the Device Info HW App. Can clearly see the HiBy on the left is the new version. Screen size , RAM, and Flash are different.

IMG_2200.jpeg

Indoor Ambient Temp is 24.4 Degrees Celsius .

IMG_2195.jpeg

Looking at the “quiet-therm-qdc” variable . The temperature is close for both.

Updating the Firmware, and then checking the Thermals.

The Thermals are a bit different. But only natural directly after a firmware update for the New HiBy R4.

Around 15 minutes switched off and back on this was the reading for Both.

Still doing further Testing , Must actually listen to the thing now.

But thought I’d give some direct comparison of the hardware info for those on the fence about purchasing which one.
The displays look different. Just one look and you could tell the difference in colors.

If P7 is $300, then that’s the one. I like it because it’s technical enough for me to not feel lacking whilst packing excellent bass.

If P7 is more expensive, I would vote for Juzear 61t. Just a pleasing IEM all around with just enough tech. My cons of this IEM include the “slower” bass that have trouble handling tracks with busy lower end. The large nozzles are also annoying.

Edit: obvious caveat here is that I can only recommend what I have tried, and thus I am obviously bias towards brands who have sent me stuffs since, well, I can experience those stuffs but not others.
My guess, it'll be priced in between $220-$250.

I'm dissapointed with this release. I was hoping Fiio would improve the tunning from JD7 ($99) and give us a flagship with JD10 at $150-200 maybe. Instead we got this toy at $7?!
I think going with their new naming scheme, its their JD0 if it were 2020. They have added 1 after the alphabets, like BTR15>btr5.

Yincrow RW2000. Quite bright so not the best pairing with neutral and technically leaning DX180, but it's wildly resolving for an earbud.

Without foams? I guess it is presumed for (almost) all flathead buds be used with foams to get target tonslity.

Who cares? I liked what he said and how he explained the DUCE. I think, at least for me, it will be worth buying.

Cheers!
I'm not knocking the Deuce, I hope it will turn out to be a good one as well. I'm just saying reviewers shouldn't be doing reviews of their own collabs. They might do an intro video at best like Timmy did with DaVinci. That's my two cents anyway.

One and only-->The -->Shawn Kemp...how can any team be unlikeable with that guy!!!

Cheers!
Paternity lawyers LOVE Shawn Kemp.

Maybe you should care if you want more than a sales pitch? Tell me the last collab/reviewer who said, "My IEM isn't very good." I'll wait.

The only thing is the T5S is not resin, but it fits like a dream. I honestly still think this is the level of IEM that would work, unless you’re thinking maybe the outside climate could affect things with the alloy build? Maybe others could chime in that have the T5S?
Been watching and listening sound demos of T5S, Aful Explorer, Sivga Que, Pula PA02 and other higher priced IEMs and I like T5S and Pula more (within my budget), but T5S is currently much cheaper than Pula (T5S around $80, Pula around $150. I know sound demos are like graphs, they just give you a general idea about sound signature.
It's plus that T5S is metal and the shape that i'm looking for.
But my hunt is still underway but so far T5S looks good and I believe it will match better with bright source like Shanling M1 Plus I have and it's very different sound than Olina SE.
Thanks for helping and goodnight.
Will continue later.

Is that everything you remembered from his description of the DUCE?
If so, then I agree with you!

Cheers!
My point is you're going to find a wingless bird flying before you'll find a collab creator talking objectively about his unit. If that doesn't bother you, knock your socks off.

I'm not opposed to collabs; I've bought them. But I would NEVER base a collab purchase solely or primarily on a review by the creator of that collab. I'd feel more comfortable buying ice in hell.
