The underdog KZ ZS12 Pro X. So much better than the ZS10 Pro 2. Such a graceful, balanced, and satisfying listen. Especially for instrumental jazz. Beautification.
So agree while not a high end offering as KZ would have you believe it's damn good and for $50 zero complaints.

I throw away all the boxes lol. I don't refund unless defective, and I don't sell.

Can't imagine what @FreeWheelinAudioLuv2 does with ..

WELP!

Hold the Deuce presses. Apparently, HBB jumped the gun and so did I. The Deuce prior posted was uploaded by Crin? Or was a Crin sample that was incorrect. HBB updated, apologized and thus the final tuning, according to him, is below:

These drivers are not doing bone conduction, no matter what the manufacturers claim. Regardless, if you don’t like it, don’t buy it. “Problem” solved.

Well I have no reason to believe that the chifi guys aren't just shoulder-tapping a friend down the road in Shenzhen who are making other consumer gear and using similar base components, but I agree that it is highly suspicious to think BC can work from inside the ear canal, and through these resin shells at that. Most of the BC sets for comms and sports have the transducer sitting over the back of the cheek bone.

What I'm saying is that, for IEMs, the implementation and this repeated emphasis on using BC drivers to increase the soundstage, a quality that never comes up in BC-only reviews, is highly suspect and should be met with much greater scrutiny.

For the record I'm not at all against expensive things or new technology in audio. I think what Dan Clark Audio is doing with the metamaterial system is really great and represents some actual R&D going into the product. Yamaha's new reference series likewise has some new tech in there that uses a sort-of U shaped tube to absorb resonant frequencies and eliminates traditional dampening material to liven up the sound. I just don't see that same commitment and transparency in the IEM market.

Instead we have a lot of boutique sellers pushing driver-type pot-pourri. I understand that people are excited when experiencing the effect, but if you're going to review gear and say that it's definitively better it should be backed up with something more than "this feels cool".

cheers

Oh, KZ! You rascals...
Hmm. If Sonion and Knowles are such dreck, KZ, then why do you do retunes and endless Pokemons with your superior in-house drivers?

As Nancy Kerrigan once yelled, "WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY?"

A buddy shared with me. I think this is the teased faceplate. I love it. What do you guys think?
Sexy. With all due respect to Miles Davis, kind of blue.

I have the impression that you came to this hobby a week ago.
I am annoyed by people like you.
Have good time at forum mainly visited by sample reviewers who take advantage of such idiots.
Goodbye.
LOL. See ya. Nice knowing ya. Sincerely wishing you health and happiness, my audio brother.

The sentiment in your post is fine, how should reviewers, or indeed ordinary head-fi members, evaluate the use of bone conduction in IEM? Assuming it is not possible to have the manufacturer provide with/without samples or an on/off switch.

A couple things.

The Sivga Que is live, and about $68.00 with coupons. Looks very good. Tempting, but not in the game right now.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807067025278.html

Something I would have been game for, but they marked it up $20 from the regular version, so now I'm not interested. Almost $95 with tax even with coupons.

AE Delci

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807245649963.html

The Delci AE is actually on sale for $69 at HiFiGo's Amazon store. They must have stock at the stateside warehouses already because it's just 2-day shipping.

Love the Origin and W1.

Actually have some more tips coming in as well straight from Japan. Radius Deep Mount Zone and Canal Works Nikyuu (gel) - basically like Z Review Render Tips but hopefully better fitting.

Did you buy the cat paw ear tips? Let us know how they are. They seem like a good alternative to the Renders or Symbio silicon/foam hybrids.
