Dunu S&S, Final Type E Clear/Red and Spinfit W1 are my trinity for fit and best sound. Only one I'm curious about now are the Penon (though I figured they'd be similar to the Final) and the Kiwi Ears Flex (which are supposed to be really good with bass though they may take away from the highs a bit).

I love the W1 a lot. Have them on several of my IEMs. I just wish their L would be just a tad larger. I think they are 13.5 (??) and for my cavernous ear holes, 14.5mm is ideal for a snug fit.

The 'competitiveness" is surely coming from Rockwell posts mentioning on overtaking Discovery in multiple instances (and I do root for the Discovery, at least since $1000+ cables are hard to rationalize for me being a scientist, so I am happy just to colour match within $30 or so).

Finally, I only responded to say that I will take a long-planned 6+ month break from the HeadFi. Great experience, great people, just too much overall.

Joking aside, I fully understand your point, and I agree it’s the strangest phenomenon. But you know what? Better for us: if inexpensive earphones satisfy us, our ears are happy—and our wallets too! Although, the thing is budget IEMs are becoming my “bad habit.” But I guess it’s better to spend $50-100 a month on IEMs rather than cigarettes! As long as I don’t run out of space to store them!

LOL Yeah, I have been terrible with the purchasing of budget sets (what? 5-6?) in the last couple months, but again, like you said, it's better than cigs or booze or anything that can harm you? Not that we judge those of you who enjoy that sort of thing! But yeah, my investment in the Project M will hopefully (I'm not exactly convinced of my will power LOL) slow down the purchases for the time being, so I can enjoy the ones in transit.

Did you buy them directly from TRN? If so, they usually ship fairly quickly, and they arrive sooner than other stores. I enjoy ordering from them direct.
