I had been targeting a Magnius Modius stack, is the Asgard 3 with the DAC module on par? I wanted the Modius because I could output the unbalanced out to an unbalanced tube amp to have two amps able to run two headphones for me and my wife at the same time. But I think that's a pretty weird use-case.
Asgard has a different sound signature to the Modius (tbh I haven't heard either of these), but would suggest the Jotunheim 2 with a built in DAC that would fit your use case perfectly and be a large improvement over the Modius.
If you look at the graph, it is clear that the treble has been lowered in energy. In addition, the graph is narrower, proof of a better balance and homogeneity.
Mine has no on-board DAC. So? But as far as a stand alone amp, I got it a really long time ago, like almost when they first came out, or a year or two later. Still though I use my TA the most as it is more resolving, but that was over $2000 if I remember right? The Asgard still surprises me with the way it sounds, it is really a nice slightly, ever so slightly warm analog sound.
Yeah definitely not a warm and comfy IEM
Even with the retail filter kit not going to happen. Why is this one getting hyped?
For $25 buy a TRN Conch with sweet modular cable and much better tuning.

I couldn't leave well enough alone and used a $10 coupon from Linsoul and bought the Janus 3 for $100.00. Saved about $30. I wanted a bullet iem and didn't want to pay almost $400 for the Darling.

Thanks for the suggestion. Reading the reviews, I am torn between these and the Venture Electronics SIE. Which of the two has better technicalities in your opinion?

I haven't heard the Legato, but I would think that neither one of these shines in technicalities as far as what it's best at.
I have the SiE and love it.
Very much "musical" and thoroughly enjoyable!
Highly rec'd.
