I had been targeting a Magnius Modius stack, is the Asgard 3 with the DAC module on par? I wanted the Modius because I could output the unbalanced out to an unbalanced tube amp to have two amps able to run two headphones for me and my wife at the same time. But I think that's a pretty weird use-case.
Asgard has a different sound signature to the Modius (tbh I haven't heard either of these), but would suggest the Jotunheim 2 with a built in DAC that would fit your use case perfectly and be a large improvement over the Modius.

I see you are susceptible... to the treble

If you look at the graph, it is clear that the treble has been lowered in energy. In addition, the graph is narrower, proof of a better balance and homogeneity.

Appreciate you've probably not spent too much time with the S15 yet, but what's your initial view on the $329 price tag?

Is it doing anything obvious to justify a 2-3x price increase over the S12 pro, M145 and even NiceHCK F1, all which graph similarly enough?

Obviously it's got a passive radiator but so does their DZ4 triple DD at $90...

@kazinova,

Mine has no on-board DAC. So? But as far as a stand alone amp, I got it a really long time ago, like almost when they first came out, or a year or two later. Still though I use my TA the most as it is more resolving, but that was over $2000 if I remember right? The Asgard still surprises me with the way it sounds, it is really a nice slightly, ever so slightly warm analog sound.

Not sure on the scale they are using but this graph is a bit of a roller coaster. That dip at 7K is huuuuge
Yeah definitely not a warm and comfy IEM
Even with the retail filter kit not going to happen. Why is this one getting hyped?
For $25 buy a TRN Conch with sweet modular cable and much better tuning.

I think Monk's set is a prototype.
I heard maybe getting retuned with a tuning kit coming included but it's hard to change the nature and tonality of a single Dynamic Driver.

Also IEC711 coupler measures different than a pro mic but we are all used to seeing this.

I couldn't leave well enough alone and used a $10 coupon from Linsoul and bought the Janus 3 for $100.00. Saved about $30. I wanted a bullet iem and didn't want to pay almost $400 for the Darling.
Great choice, and a great sounding IEM congratulations.

Thanks for the suggestion. Reading the reviews, I am torn between these and the Venture Electronics SIE. Which of the two has better technicalities in your opinion?

Personal opinion of course.

Most bass Legato
Best bass SiE
Best vocals SiE
Most resolving SiE

SiE is more balanced while also being a bassy IEM, Legato provides more bass focus and less balance.

But both are good.
The gold design can be to much for some. And then Legato is much safer looking.

I haven't heard the Legato, but I would think that neither one of these shines in technicalities as far as what it's best at.
I have the SiE and love it.
Very much "musical" and thoroughly enjoyable!
Highly rec'd.
