p5 is said to have a strange sound stage. do you think so?

It’s generic IEM soundstage in terms of size, though positioning is better than average thanks to the treble extension. Fairly good deal as a whole. I have no use for it, but still take it out for rotation once in a while.

The sound stage is layered and a little narrow, but good front to back extension...

hey, do you know of a model in the $100-$200 band that has the same tuning as the waner sg? the dumb iems were so good I was amazed at how the mid frequencies were so good. If I do not count the bl 03, it may be my favorite budget segment iems in recent years. tight bass, clear mids and unobtrusive highs. The only problem was that it was a little whistling at high volumes. it was just adjusted to my taste, I didn't want to take it out of my ear.

there is one sr 5 in the cargo, its setting is far from waner. I love mid-frequency centered iems. I have detailed models, but I can listen for a maximum of 1 hour, then I get bored. I remember very well, I didn't want to take the waner sg out of my ears because it was so fun and well tuned.
I might suggest the Letshuoer Galileo.

i don't know, I've read some weirdness about the soundstage in a few places. I've heard that p5 has a muffled soundstage. by the way, because of european taxes, p5 is in the 250 € band, it's hard for me to clear anything over 150 euros. I'm pushing up to 180 - 185 euros, but 250 is impossible.

so i can listen to different options as well.

yes, i read that the stage is narrow. It was in the €250 band, about $270. it's hard to get it through customs

Tanchjim Oxygen (used)
Moondrop Kato
Dunu Falcon Ultra

All of them have similar tuning with Tangzu Wan er with similar tuning (harman with bass boost) and have better technicalities than Wan Er.
All also single DD IEMs if that what you're looking for

If you want more mid forwarded, the recent Moondrop Starfield 2 have more forwarded high mids. I haven't try that myself but seems like shouty one, do your homework watching reviews first.

i Tried several IEMs yesterday, some that i can remember are the 64 Audio U4S, Eysian Gaea, Shuoer DZ4,KZ S24, Blessing 3, Truthear Red, and some Simgots (EA500, EW200, and EM6L). there are also some other products that i can't remember the name, like there's one EPZ (red one) that i forgot the code name.

the one that impresses me the most is surprisingly the EW200. the tuning and build are great, even when not factoring the price.

Listening to the Simgot Phoenix EM6L right now with a filter nozzle to tame the pina just a bit and loving this tuning. Stage is amazing and has some pretty good extension in the highs.

Anybody tried Geek World GK100? Looks promising, and doesnt cost too much either.

Geek Wold GK100 Graph.jpg

8 khz is a coupler artefact peak

The GK100 is a very analytical and technical IEM under $200. Has very good micro-detailing and resolution, such that you can dissect music and hear even fine ghost hits of drums, guitar fret squeaks and audience sounds. But the timbre is a bit unnatural, with thin note weight and a sterile signature. It is a bit hot in the treble/upper mids if you are treble sensitive.

Ultimately it goes for technicalities over musicality, so perhaps it is a great tool for critical listening or even audio work (mixing, stage monitoring etc), but for music listening, it may come across as too intense and sterile?

Wow linlong that good😳

I must try then…

Thanks for the input

They are good. Not as technically good as the Vesna though but i much prefer the sound signature because the sub bass tuck on the Vesna makes me very sad. Pressure build up and driver flex is atrocious though.

Little Q is also worth trying. Their bass is a little loose and that'll probably put some people off straight away but if it doesn't i actually think they might have a little more air and clarity than the Linglong plus they have the mid bass that that Linglong misses sometimes.

Is the stock have nylon / mesh filter underneath the grill?

Stock on the EM6L has a mesh grill so it's easy to just put a filter on top of that.

If you want a 1-for-1 upgrade (IMO) Tripowin Piccolo is budget but I liked it more than Wan’er.

Tri Starsea is the next closest upgrade, but it has concerns about pressure build up in the ear. Sound quality is a big step up though.

Tri x HBB Kai is a little different, but more in the relaxed fun camp as well

Stock on the EM6L has a mesh grill so it's easy to just put a filter on top of that.

Hard to see since the mesh are black, but I think that also dampening mesh filter.
Double the filter will be great to tame high mids, in fact I like your modded graph better than shoutier stock, but perhaps pinch very small hole will great for bass airflow. the nylon mesh already bad for bass airflow, moreover double the filter, you can see slight bloated bass on the modded graph compared to stock.
but remember when punching a hole, you have to take them all first, never pinch a hole while mesh are attached on nozzle.

I did lot of things like this and so do I with the Krila last week here :

Anyway thanks for sharing. Interested in Simgot EM6L for budget technicalities, also consider the EW200 and CVJs
