No thanks with the SR7. I've sold ever IEM I put up for sale, but I cannot sell the SR5. No takers, so Sound Rhyme doesn't have much resale value.
I can respectfully argue about demand for SR5 though.

Fact: the number of impressions and retweet of SR5 giveaway campaign I run on twitter couple of weeks ago scored 60k impressions and over 600 retweets, which is as much as Moondrop’s Blessing3 initial official announcement which scored 69k impressions, and rest of their tweets are averaging 2k-10k impressions. That’s as best an epoch making mighty moondrop’s official account with nearly 30k followers could reach.

SoundRhyme thread is still very active and I see new fellows every week mainly from SR5.

People have interest in SoundRhyme and SR8 made a buzz moment. SR5 still holds incredible price to performance offering proper Knowles 4+1 when compared 2sonion +2bellsing+1DD’s JUZEAR 41T around the same price bracket.

So your negative argument about Sound Rhyme’s popularity actually doesn’t quite make sense to me.

Surely we cannot compare the both Brands and IEMs, moondrop has much more notoriety.

I think the comment was focused on the fact that outside this post and the "official" one of SR is a "obscure" brand hard to sell.

A risky bet to spend our money.

For that price you can try a TIMELESS wich will be so much easier to sell.

Yeah Saw that! Fix that Bass Thieaudio! be careful Sound Rhymes and AFUL are under your shadow now they are ready to take you!
Guess its time to let my Monarch MKII go, doesn't matter good or bad the MKIII will be, the MKII isn't up to the same level as Z1R and Mest to me, so I feel a bit redundant. Need some cash also after borrowing money for the M17.

THE LEGEND OF OPPOTY CONTINUES.

goods compressed.jpg

Come with me today as I share my first impressions of the BLON x HBB Z300. This is yet another HBB collab, this time with driams to create an oppoty to shake the market. Jokes aside, let’s see if the Z300, with the help of HBB lives up to the hype the BL03 had that the Z200 was unable to capture.

Thank you to Linsoul Audio for sending over the Z300 and for Daniel of Sushi Audio Reviews for lending his unit.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS;
- Barebones inclusions with crappy tips
- Insanely good build and stock cable for the price
- Warm slight u-shape sound signature, the HBB special
- Good bass impact and slam, but rather smooth texture
- Mids are colored warm, but quite organic and rich
- Treble is smooth, average detail and transients
- Techs are average

The BLON x HBB Z300 is HBBs first collaboration with BLON who took the market by storm in 2019 with the BL03. It features a Silicone Diaphragm housed in a Zinc Alloy shell

If you’ve tried an HBB collab before, then you should expect a very similar tonal quality with the Z300 as there is considerable warmth and richness to the overall sound signature. Bass is large, deep and impactful. Despite this, the midrange doesn’t sound scooped or thin and has an organic and rich quality to vocals and instruments. The treble is rather inoffensive and smooth with decent clarity to compliment the bass. Its overall technicalities is also just about average for the price. Probably the most phenomenal aspect about the Z300 however is its build and cable. If you’ve tried BLON products before, you know that they use very high-quality metal alloys for their shells and the Z300 steps it up a notch with a very solid zinc alloy coated in a nice, powdered finish and paired with arguably one of the best stock cables I’ve seen for the price.

However, as with HBB sets, these are not for those who want an open or crisp set as the bass takes center stage above all. Bass control is slightly lacking as it has the tendency to smear notes in the midbass and lower mids, albeit respectable for the tuning goal. There is a slight midbass bleed that affects openness and clarity not only to the lower mids but also coming up to the upper mids where the ear gain is cut, akin to HBBs previous collab, the QKZ x HBB. The upper mids are adequately forward, but noticeably behind or less emphasized compared to the empowering bass. The treble lacks a little bit of clarity and microdetail retrieval as well as incisiveness in percussive which is to be expected for a budget single DD set. Techs are, as stated, quite average. Height and width are quite narrow with depth being commendable. Separation and imaging did take a big hit in cleanliness in the separation and accuracy of the imaging, however. The tip situation also seems to be the same story as the original BLON BL03 and Z200.

The BLON x HBB Z300 is, by and large, an HBB collab by heart. A warm slight u-shape sound signature is done rather well. I would say that this is less comparable to the BLON BL03 and even the previous Z200, and more against HBBs collabs like the QKZ x HBB, Kai, and the like. And with a price tag of $40, you end up expecting a lot more than just good sound which the Z300 kills it with the build and cable.

Stay tuned for the full review!

Havent tried Shine but most response from it is pretty positive. (somewhere among the line of "For a "brand new company" this iem is pretty good and competitive at its price")

It seems KZ wants open to a branch for experimentation that uh, "seperate from KZ brands"
But starlines eartips and marketing brocure design and wording tips off listeners

Anyhow still pretty excited with KZ 3rd gen BAs.
The first gen (bellsings) is pretty detailed but metalic and sibilant
The second gen (KZ black BA which seems to be bellsings with dampers) manage to be not as sibilant or as metalic but it lost its sparkle and a bit too polite.

Who knows which direction KZ will take with this 3rd gen.

Well, I wasn't sure about it because of it being a slightly different idea as to where KZ was going? And I put it way behind in the testing pool, but then the overall signature (I got used to) was both detailed and slightly warm, and the rest is history.......meaning it is different than a KZ tune, but in a good way?

Looks who finally decided to show up. Some key points from initial listening sessions and some A/B tests:
  • W-shape sound signature (boost subbass, mid-midrange, and upper treble, with less emphasis of in-between frequencies). It sounds open, neither thick or thin. Reminiscent of the tuning of some high-end stuffs.
  • Tonality is natural. Nothing to complain. I’m still shocked that the tonality works, given the questionable graph with boost around 800Hz.
  • Treble extension and treble details are epic.
  • Not the widest, but deep and well layered soundstage with excellent holographic illusion due to treble extension.
  • Very resolving, both macro (separation) and micro (details). Easily match or exceed my Andromeda in A/B tests.
  • Bass is high quality DD. Fast and snappy, but still has a bouncy sensation to it. The quantity it carefully controlled, boosted but not overly done so.
In summary: it sounds like an entry level kilobuck in my first listening session.

Tangzu Princess Chang Le

Graph via IEC711 coupler. 8 kHz is a coupler artefact peak.

Listening impressions to follow.

In keeping with Tangzu naming their IEMs after Tang Dynasty historical figures, here's a fun fact:
Princess Chang Le was a minor princess of the Tang Dynasty. She was a famous painter, and was renowned for her intelligence and beauty. Sadly, she passed away at a young age at just 21 years old, due to a lung disease.
