Anybody else into wolfson? Kinda wanna try something, iPod 1st gen touch? HUM Pervasion? FiiO X3? What’s good?

I think my old AGPTEK H1 uses Wolfson... Still works well

Edit: I wrote a short review on Amazon when I bought it, back in 2016. At the time I had the Fiio X1, which I later sold to buy the X3II (also sold). However, I still have the H1. The sound of your Wolfson is special, the bass still sounds good now that I'm testing it with the KiiBOOM Evoke's, they have a vintage colour that I like.

Are wolfson dacs still talked about, or have they fallen off popularity due to relatively poor technical performance?
Fiio E17 was pretty pleasant, but also pretty meh resolution. Imagine that brick was considered mobile and budget in 2013 lol

Unfortunately sold. Id like to compare it to iBasso DC04 Pro that mail service is delivering tied to a turtle

Some more...

You're like me, you don't throw out your old players. I don't even if they aren't functional anymore. I posted a pic similar to this with all my old players and daps.

Okay... For now, I'm going to buy the SR5 from Aliexpress this month. I'll have to think about the SR8 and SA6 MK2 after I buy the headphones.
You made a great and wise choice. Throw a Blackcat or Blacksoul cable on it, along with some quality tips, and you're as close to endgame as you will get for $150.00.

Maybe change your phone then. The newest Qualcomm in the Samsung S23 are praised for good battery...
Yea…about the time..

Depends. If you lean towards bass, and you like punchy authoritative bass, with restrained sparkle, then the SR5 is for you. It will be close to endgame. If you want less natural and authoritative bass, but more air and extension up top, and maybe a tad more clarity, then go with the B3 or the SA6?
Yea, cost performance wise SR5 is close to endgame for that category, especially for Rock source.

When I got T800, I was looking into DT200 and DT300, as well.
DT300 would be close to my preferences of well-extended treble-rich BAs. DT200 would be overly gentle. While Crin loved DT200 and cringed over T800, my preferences is of higher preference :)

On the subject of DT200, I do have Brainwavz B400, which arw really nice all-BA (Softear BAs, I would specilate), - I just wish I could reshell them; then, HiSenior U4 for a great midcentric experience, and also BGVP VG4 (largely for the experience how reviews of "free samples" can suck... and while there is nothing wrong with VG4 per se, nothing special for me as well, if not to count ES 29689 implementation, but then U4 is definitely better there).

Trying to take the step of "graduating from KZ" and largely failing in it - a good lesson that I learned is to definitely take the top/flagship IEM of a less-known company over some "mid-line" of even more established companies (that can't be as good as their top IEMs by the design/intent).
B400 and my beloved KZ (as impetfect as they are) are all great and unique experience.

At the moment, I plan to snap few more DACs for synergy after experienceling KZ D-Fi really shining with some simple ALC5686 (bought literally for a change) in stage/spatial perception.
One of the Whizzer DACs and tips (similar to the transforming Clarion) are upcoming and I may order more.
A bad luck with Hexa again, a back order (the reorder) with Amazon.ca not shipped over 20 days now...
ah it looks like Crin also loved DT200, didn’t know that part.

DT200 has film capacitor which I see Softears RS10 uses a beautiful blue one in moderating RS10’s BA tuning, I always wanted to try how does that sound, and got answer by $67 IEM which uses a proper film capacitor😳
