It looks good and is proving to sound good but nothing justify the non detachatable cable. KZ did and still does cheaper IEMs with better structure and longevity. Pretty disappointing to be honest, something they should not copy Tanchjim and Moondrop

I was looking for a bullet set recently and honestly i didn't want a detachable cable because the plugs introduce a large, inflexible chunk of plastic that will be difficult to get to sit in my ears. A flexible strain relief that will bend is a much better option for cable down, small bullets that sit inside the ear imo.

i'd say get one and try it.
then compared it with other bullet style iem, like QuarkDSP, Tanya, or (especially) Vesna if you have those.
personally, it'll be interesting to see how far KZ latest DD update compared to theirs.
especially because KZ being stubborn and it seems they slowly updated everything but the membrane on their dd

Per HBB, See Audio is releasing 1/1DD+Planar IEM called Rinko. A typo of 1DD + 1 Planar or 1BA +1DD+1Planar? Sample package shows two waifus, so maybe a DD+Planar indication.

Speaking about wheat from chaff, seems TRN is releasing a dual DD:
The TRN MT4

This year may turn out to be the year of the dual DD party (is last year's planar frenzy over?). But it seems this TRN one doesn't have tuning switches unlike the TRI/KBEAR Star River.

Purportedly: Beryllium-coated 10mm dual-magnet dynamic driver + 6mm lightweight diaphragm dynamic driver

Graph looks more tame than the usual V-shaped TRN banshees or bass-bleeding house sound, but it looks very stretched. Pinna gain is almost 10 dB on the scale even with the stretching shenanigans.

Also, am a bit suspicious if the beryllium is properly coated at this price point (remember beryllium is toxic to process), but let's see how the first adopter reviews turn out. TRN tuning and QC is quite hit or miss also, so best to wait first?

but i kinda understand wanting to supplant DD to give planar that "punch"
however, my KZ PR1 Pro surprisingly give enough punch and rumble for planar that doesn't quite makes me wanting more.

TRN IEMs are like a box of chocolates, as Forest Gump would say. You never know what you will get.

Sometimes I am astounded by how much good sound they can squeeze for a $10 - 20 single DD, but othertimes, some of their higher driver count/high priced IEMs flop very badly. Their house sound seems to flip flop between big bassy lowFI ala old school Beats, versus shrieky ultra-technical treble-piercing V-shaped types. A few of the TRN gear I bought also died within weeks of arriving (and I baby my gear well), or screw ups like wrong filter etc are not uncommon for their new releases.

I guess for the $16 asked here, and the pleasant looking graph, it isn't that bad a gamble!

aside from that DD + planar is killer combination, especially from SeeAudio that have good reputation in tuning.

Yeah bro graph looked very stretched , from the numbers looks like around 10db pinna gain on high mids, with too scooped lower trebles 6khz, and bloated 150-200hz area for me. $16 is tempting but i guess I'll pass this one, too many beater sets laying around lol

Yeah i bought one, let's see how well they are.
I have try quarks, spaceship (which i like), tanya, cca cst and currently using tanchjim zero and BFB Lark which kinda close to astrotec Vesna

Will comparing linglong (?) with tanchjim zero, BFB Lark and Sony N3. Yeah you know which win but just to fill out the bullet style iem showdown

The See Audio Rinko is indeed inretesting, I bet See Audio would ever use budget components like SPD, so it shall be a proper Planar. Hopefully it would be like Yume 2 (Currently $150 with Rinko novelties).

We have Softears ST4 coming tomorrow Their 2BA+1DD Volume is $285 and 5BA RSV as $760, maybe $499 Softears may place 4BA at. Same price for 4BA Symphonium Meteor.
