I'd get them if they were bigger. I need a full size set for my friend for gaming and home listening but his head and ears are rather big and I want to get him something that will be comfortable for many hours of use.

I read somewhere that the drivers in the dj100 are sr80(not sure if i) drivers. I think it was from someone selling his dj100 on the classifieds a while back. Maybe that's why the mids are so good on them?

Different companies, different sounding cans, and one is open while the other is closed.  So the odds that this is true = ~0%

They beat the CAL unamped and pull away with a decent amp even more.
As for the D2000...they're what...200 more? 250 at this price. Not exactly a fair fight, but if you like tighter bass than the D2000 offers they best them in that way. They're also a much more practical portable.

There are not many who would share this opinion. I think the CAL are better in every way.

Well I don't use it for "crap I don't really need." When I get paid, I go on Amazon, get things I need for the house all at a cheaper cost than going to Walmart or Home Depot or whatever, and all delivered for free. Shipping for the things I've bought this month alone would have been far above $80. It's also especially helpful when I need something in particular. Maybe a new charger because mine broke, or a new cord for an amp, things like that. Instead of paying triple or quadruple the price at Best Buy or Radioshack, I can have it the next day for four bucks. I get a lot of food off of there, as well. Kitchen stuff, home stuff, headphone stuff, electronics, snacks, etc. All come from Amazon for no shipping whatsoever. I've ordered at least 100 things off there in the last few months. Even big things like desks, air conditioners, fridges.

I'm with you 100%...I order everything from headphones to dog food to underwear off Amazon...one-click and it shows up at my door in a day or two...I have a pantry full of empty amazon boxes I need to break down and get rid of lol

Whoever's still hesitating to get the DJ100s get them. They're worth it. If I wasn't downsizing my headphone collection to have less clutter I would've kept mine but I highly recommend getting the Audio-Technica M50 pads with them and maybe a Fiio E6 if you don't have one already. Soundstage is very noticeable and it is very compact that it can function as a portable can. Honestly kinda thinking of maybe selling my HD25-1's and getting those again but I dunno yet. Really though, do it! DJ100's are great. If you need a removable cable wait for the Tony Bennett version to go down, free case too :)

Might want to check the Koss DJ 100 thread for questions. Never tried the headphones you mentioned. Also, not sure but the link for the $2 credit doesn't work...?

It works for me! Thank you very much! Although I'm only getting it as it didn't take any effort.

I downloaded two tracks when the $3 promotion was going on .......If I really want music. Amazon at this moment will never be where I'm getting them. They were encoded by a monkey ..or monkeys for that matter. MP3 256kbps......sounds like it is a MP3 128kbps BUT with the addition artifacts everywhere.
