The AKG K422 Foldable Headphone Black at Musician's Friend for $19.99.

Well, I'm sold. People are generally happy with the K420 from what I've read (as far as a relatively cheap portable headphone goes) and this looks to probably be based on that but with different pads that look like they would be more comfortable but leak more sound which is fine with me. And they look pretty cool IMO. So I can't resist.. I'm ordering one. :) I'll do a (probably short) review once I have some time to get to know them.

Edit: nvm, just saw the -$79.99 discount.

Well, I'm sold on them.

Dammit, I hate this thread so much. I've been spending the past 20 min. deciding whether or not to pull the trigger on the AKG K422 deal. I can't really find reviews for it or for the K420, which you guys think it's based on. Arrgghhh...

I jumped on the AKGs myself.

Figured $25 (after tax/shipping) is too good to pass up on headphones at this MSRP.

*crossing fingers they sound at least decent*

The Sennheisers ultimately won as he liked the deep explosions for movies but K420's in second place being clearer. Granted he was quite new to this, but seems to know what he wanted and what to look for...

Thanks. I don't really NEED them for any reason. It's just when you see a 75% discount off MSRP (I'm factoring in shipping costs) it's hard to resist. But, as I listen to my beloved V-80s, I realize the human desire to accumulate beyond what is necessary is the driving force here. Besides, I need all the money I've got for the M-100s (maybe release?) next month.

And damn I need to apply this logic towards any "deal" I find on slickdeals as well
