i just ordered the AKG K422's from Musician's Friend. For $19.99, it seems a no-brainer for me. I have several set of headphones for home use, but i need something for the streets and subway. Earbuds irritate my ears and annoy me cause they tangle so easily and its so easy for the little cushions to pop off and get lost.

The K422's are semi open though which will also may be a problem for me as I don't want to hear outside noises.. and I don't want people to hear me playing Miley Cirus... I joke, but you know what I mean.

Snagged a pair of the AKG's. I keep telling myself I'm done with cheap headphones, but how could I resist AKG's for $20?

I had to buy a Audio Technica(genuine) hard carrying case off ebay to go with it as i fall down and chuck by bag sometimes..... so yeah. My wallet does hurt. Had to hand quite some cash today!!! >_< in the last half year I have bought an Q701, E17, NFB 12.1, Objective 2, XB500, PL11, MP 8320, K422 and various cheap cables...my wallet is crying right now.

LOL this K422 situation is pretty funny. I've got it easy because I do actually need a portable headphone. I'm happy to postpone a $200-300 purchase for a few weeks trying out these cheapos. haha

I need real legit portables at the $250 price range and closed for a trip next year but same as you, just going to try them out.
