I've bought 2 refurbished PC 150 headsets and they were both like-new with no signs of use at all and worked perfectly. But that was several years ago.

 Nope (unless you pay for a cord mod which will probably void your warranty) but Grado, Senn and others sell short cord adapters.

Cheapest I have seen them. Really tempted because I want a headphone for movies. Stuck between them an denon 2000 or denon 5000 and hifiman 400.

But denons being discontinued seems to make the decision for me. Makes me mad because I wanted to wait for my amp before ordering. Took an extra month to get it now all the good deals are gone.

Have patience my friend, new deals pop up all the time. Of course, I know with these things patience can be difficult :)
 
From what I've read I would lean toward the Denons and the Hifiman over the Ultrasone but what do I know.. I haven't had the pleasure of listening to any of them yet :wink:
 
Oh and being discontinued just means you'll probably be able to find an even better price on them. I'm sure there will still be some floating around when you get around to buying them.

ha no, first there were good deals, like 50% deals, but now its 100% full price, at the only places that have any left

New D5K is 700$ in Amazon,
 
here you can find for 400$, I learn on this thread that, those are b stock and dakmart is hit or miss when it comes to CS

RMCaudiodirect.com  has Signature Pros for $850, but you must call to get the price (too low to publish compared to $1,299 MSRP).  This was the last time I called and may have changed, but worth calling to save $450.  I did confirm with Ultrasone that they are an authorized retailer.

I don't own the D2000s so I can't directly compare them.  I do find the HFI2400s to be a great all-purpose headphone.  I don't think there is one genre of music that these fail to do justice.  
 
Do note that the D2000s are closed-back and the HFI2400s are open-back.  Although, I have heard that the D2000 leak so much sound that they might as well be open.
