It was on sale for $130 even after the inventory review, so I am assuming it's a sale.

Me too. It was $47.71 total after shipping was added. I bought it last Sunday, and it should arrive on Monday. There were only two left in stock after I checked moments ago.

I know this is probably a regular price, but DT-990 PRO is $175 on Amazon. Not bad considering the Premium is $270-$300.
I bought a pair to compare with my DT-770 Pro 80 that I kind of liked.
 
Somehow I can't wear the DT-880 comfortably due to it's shallow pads. With the DT-770 Pro I don't have any comfort issues. Strange.
I definitely would prefer the 880 to the 990/770.

Edit - I stand corrected.  I only remember people saying around the press release that it was repackaged (like Q701.)  From brief searches it appears this is not so.
