A number of places seem to be doing this to slightly side-step Sennheiser's strict pricing rules.

That sale was around a month ago, probably over now.
I was traveling at the time, and stopped at the Charlotte store but they had sold out already

I would say so. They are rather well known, especially on the deals thread.
I wouldn't have any hesitation buying from them. I save that for some 3rd party sellers and refurbished sellers.

Only up to 15% off, and not applicable to everything - Audeze for example doesn't work.  Good deal on the Sennheiser's though if it works for those.
