lol

Here in Brazil custom taxes can be up to 78% and it includes the shipping cost.

And even paying for the product plus shipping plus 78% tax the cost will be cheaper than buying the product here.

I feel you; here in Finland most shops sell d5k's for around 800 euros which at the moment equals exactly... 1052 dollars. I got mine for ~400 euros from amazon.de, no extra VAT within EU and all that.

That is crazy. Must be a good deal though but sucks you have to pay so much in customs.

http://v-moda.com/end-of-season/

For those that dont mind earbuds, V-Modas got an End Of Season - Private Sale with Bass Frequency Earphones at $8.88 (Reg. Price: $50) right now and they have their Vibe earphones on sale for $29.99 (Reg. Price $101).

Personally I'm not a fan of earbuds and i wouldn't pay more than $20 for a pair at regular price, but these two are a definite steal!

I normally compare the price in my country and in amazon, if the price gap is less than 140 US dollar, i buy from my country, otherwise i bought from amazon US.
Note, here in South east asia, with the exception of Philippines, the price of sony, audio technica, denon asia brand headphone is cheaper than US. Whereas akg,Ultrasone, beyerdynamics is cheaper in US.

Thanks.

In fact it's more like 89%. Because the first tax applied is 60%, and the second one, 18%, goes on the total price, not the original one.

So if you pay 100, first tax goes to 160 and the second applies to 160, not to 100. 18% will be $28,8, so almost 29% of the original price.

At least customs around here aren't effective, so you don't pay taxes for everything...

Maybe that's why they overcompensate when they finally get around to it

Correction: taxes will be paid on your yearly tax return

I ordered mine from B&H last week. After a couple days of listening to them stock and then with Shure 840 pads, some mods made a huge difference in the sound! I did a lite version of the BMF 6.3 mod... check it out! It's definitely worth doing.
