I would like to point out the correct saying is "for all intents and purposes"

Pulled trigger on the Open Box EE Denon AH-D2000 deal. Just arrived and it is as described in this thread - for all intensive purposes it is new. Loving it during initial impressions.

I'm considering an amp and wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on the two that are on sale here:

Ha! Thanks for the grammar lesson. I guess I just never paid enough attention to that phrase but that's helpful.

Also helpful is the comment on the Bellari, though. I read a little about people changing tubes immediately on it. I've seen so many mixed thoughts about the d2000 requiring or not requiring amplification that I'm still unsure of what to do. I may just wait it out a little bit. I'm also wondering if I wouldn't want a dac/amp combo that is portable. All in a tiny budget, haha.

I'm probably going to use my macbook pro as my primary source for these headphones.

We should re-title this thread to the Denon d200 deals thread.

I would get a TubeMagic D1. I have one and love it. $200 and you get a 24/96 DAC and a decent built in amplifier.

Thanks to this thread, I picked up the Denon AH-D7000 for under $580 through Amazon (used, like new). Hopefully, my set will be as great as others have received :)

Now I just need to find amp/DAC to power them. Went over my $500 budget for the headphones, but couldn't be happier.

I have set a budget of $640 for the amp and DAC, hopefully I won't go over again.

I want to buy a budgeted headphones for around $50. (For musics, and sometimes movies)
Which one would you guys suggest?
What is the best possible cans I could get? (including used, refurbish, etc)

I saw Sen 428(RB) for around $28 above, which is quite tempting but I think I could get a better one for $50.
I also saw once that Grado 60 for $51, but I had missed.

Thanks in advance for your helpful replies!

I got my open box D2000s from Electronic Expo today after buying them last week and I'm loving them! Open box my ass, those things were brand new in that box. There was tape and other things that would have been impossible to put back on if it was taken out. Breaking them in now, they sounded a bit bass heavy with recessed mids out of my Claro Plus, but I hooked them into my reciever and record player and they sound great! Looks like I might be getting an O2 after all. So yeah, I swear at Electronics Expo they just cut that sticker off the box and call it open box or something. These are brand new.

Should I look into the markl mod or the pad mod or anything to bring out the mids a bit more?

I didn't need any break in on the d2000. Other cans that I've bought did need it but not these. I wouldn't mod them yet. Just listen for awhile and enjoy! You can always mod later if you feel that you need to....

Sometimes the sound seems a bit muddy, like as if the bass is hiding a lot of it. I'm going to burn them in more first before modding though, you're right.
