I have the qdc anole vx paired with LP W2 dongle. To get a better sound would you buy a n8ii or sell the qdc and buy a tonalli iem? Thanks

Im looking for a similar sound to susvaras, any recommendations?
With the Anole VX, you are pretty TOTL already. I would say bettering audio source to the n8ii would make you get that last 10-15%, so I'd do that.

The closest IEM to the Susvara is the Oriolus Traillii. I still consider it the best IEM. It is also the IEM with the closest timbre match to the Susvara. If you happen to be into the music of Diana Krall, there is probably nothing better ( I mention this as a few other HP enthusiasts were shocked at the similarity, but not happy with the price!). Compared to the VX ( I do own both ) the overall timbre is a bit better, the mids and treble a bit smoother but just as detailed if not more so. Bass is close but sometimes more punch in the Traillii and more detailed as well. The biggest difference though is the overall timbre. The VX is still excellent.

1. Jomo Audio 306 Supra
Doesn't need eq, the most detail, very good sound placement, my favorite bass experience even though not as extended as others*.
2. AKG N5005
Doesn't need eq (though there are sound filters), more linear sound, good detail, treble extension, good blending of dd and ba, but I know what people mean when they say that this has a plasticky sound.
3. NF Audio NM2
Accurate sound even though there are still some frequencies boosted, good placement of sounds.
4. EO-IG955
Easy listening even without eq, but still needs it.
5. Fidue A73
Ringing in upper registers not solved with eq and I am able to tell there are two types of drivers, but good placement of sounds.
6. RHA T10i
Too much bass but I think I didn't burn it in, had to give up before that though because of the fit.

*I've never heard bass done by a balanced armature prior to this iem. I read much about people saying ba bass doesn't compare to dd bass, but this always seemed to come down to ringing. I thought I would like bass done by ba's because I never liked the ringing bass frequencies typical of dd's. Ended up being my favorite part of it.

You have a few that I want to buy… 3 and 4 were high on my list, due to “everyone” have them on their list as 1,2 or in the top 5.

I am aware of the fit issue with Sony’s but figured I could give it a try for 10% restocking.

Okay now my question… I am all about sound over durability/value (things I consider of value are: how well it’s built, warranty)

With this in mind if you had $2000 to spend would you consider the Sony’s, 64’s or go with JH x L-acoustic Contour XO? (I know virtually nothing about this one…) the carbon one looks like it’s 6-7 years old and while Amazon still seems to have some versions not sure I want to get those

Thanks!
