Sorry for the small collection, just getting started.
But currently I prefer my Aeon Closed over my HD6XX, mainly because of comfort. So:
- MrSpeakers Aeon Closed
- Drop HD6xx
1. Lcd-X 2021, Surprisingly adept at most musical genres. Detail + bass. Extremely comfortable. Easy to listen to at lower volumes due to dynamics. I worry that the cables look fragile, but that aside, top notch.
2. Sennheiser HD660s, up one place. Finally got them to stop creaking and squeaking, thank god. Makes a world of difference. My go to for vocal music.
3.Grado sr325e, for when you absolutely need to hear that trumpet scream, except no substitute.
4. Sundara, my gateway drug to "audiophile" headphones. Still a constant delight. If it's bass heavy music, these are my choice.
5. Timeless 7hz, sound amazing, but as with every iem / tip I have ever used, cause inner ear itch after 45mins, so limits use.
I will say that it is not for everyone, but it is the headphone I have owned longest and gets the most use.
Needs a powerful, warm amp to shine. A90 just did not work with this.
I'm gonna cheat a little bit and list headphones I used to own as well that I liked, but sold to pay off other stuff (would love to get them back eventually, though!) The ones currently own I'll mark with an asterisk.
IEM:
1. Sony IER-Z1R*
2. KL-Sirius*
3. Moondrop KXXS
4. Sony WF-1000XM4 (with EQ & Final E-tips)*
5. Final E5000
6. Final E2000*
7. Sony WF-1000XM4 (stock, no EQ)*
Currently I'm on the lookout for a pair of HD800's but trying to find a pair for a decent price has been pretty tricky.

With a nominal impedance of 420 ohms, the ADX-5000 headphone should be driven by a high output impedance OTL tube headphone amplifier (e.g. Woo Audio WA2), or by a solid state headphone amplifier with sizable voltage swing capability (e.g. Violectric HPA 2XX series). The Topping A90, while being a ‘measurement champion’, just does not fit the bill vis-a-vis high-impedance headphones.
To summarize, D8000 and ADX5000 don't share too many similarities (on a granular level, at least. They are both similar in being elite options). D8000 has both more bass depth and impact. ADX5000 is unmistakably brighter than the D8000. They both are highly-resolving headphones, though.

Driving the HD800S with A90D, with impedance swing up to 600 ohms (from listed 300 ohms) sounds majestic.
OTL amps are just not detrimentally affecting the sound as its output impedance is within the damping factor range (8:1 / 10:1)

I have not heard those other headphones in your review, but agree on your comments on ADX5000. Bass quality depends on the amp, and i think yours was more than qualified to bring the best out of these. At first i felt like the bass was lacking, but got used to it and now I appriciate the tightness and quality, for the fun bass I'll use my Elites. And precision + light weight is why I use these in gaming and daily tasks.
