Been a long time since I wrote on here and there have been changes.

In order of most affection to least:

Grado GH2's. My favourite headphone. Mids for miles.

Focal Elex's. I love these just behind the Grado's. W-shaped sound at its best, IMO.

CFA Cascade's. Bass for miles! The bassy closed back that I searched for, for years

Senn HD660's. Nice, transparent and pretty neutral.

Audio Technica ATH-WP900's. My newest headphones. Beautiful and the most V-shaped headphone ever. BASSY.

Hifiman Drop Edition XX's. Big soundstage and great bass.

Fostex T60RP's (currently vacationing in Pennsylvania). These impressed me for the price. But I want to hear the Argon.

Audeze LCD-2 Classic's. Recent purchase that I still run hot and cold on. Depends on the music and the amp.

Beyer DT880's (600OHM). Nice sound, but a little bright. Need a ton of power to sound their best.

Senn HD6XX's. Second time owning these. Just bought them for the tube amp.

For amps I have:
1) Little Dot MKIII. Lots of tubey fun. FAR from neutral. Adjustable gain offers lots of flexibility.

2) Monoprice Liquid Platinum. Hybrid amp does does not sound very tubey. I Love it. Better for higher impedance headphones via XLR cable.

3) Violectriic V220. Amazing amp has lots of power and adjustable gain. Works with anything. Only does SE out. My favourite.

4) My newest addition is the iFi ICAN Pro. This a solid state AND tube amp. So far I am loving this amp. Only got it this week. Tons of power and features.

Updated after buying/selling some gear -

1. HE-6SE with the Audeze carbon fiber headband/yoke kit mod - outstanding comfort to match that sound!
2. HD800S
3. Pioneer SE Master 1
4. Denon LA7000 - some days I appreciate it more like being number 2 - all mood related and that BASS is incredible (has deeper than stock cups)
5. Denon MD2000 - with full Lawton mods - so close to the LA7000

New list...the number of headphones I own has reduced!

1. Focal Clear
2. EMU Ebony
3. ER4XR
4. AKG K371

3 and 4 are rather close, hard for me to rank. The ER4XR is better, both technically and it’s more neutral, but I might prefer to listen to the K371 more often because I prefer the sound of headphones over IEMs, and the bass boost is fun.

Sennheiser HD800s - wonderful, airy, wide and clean. Suits jazz, ambient and mellow music, comfortable but loose.
Audeze LCDX - big, beefy and robust in build and sound, not as wide as the 800s by any means, but a dark enjoyable sound (eq’d), heavy, fits like a motorbike helmet
Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro - tight, close and clean, great for faster, guitar based music, not as comfortable. Great for mastering.
Beyerdynamic T1’s 2nd gen - the more relaxed 1990’s in sound and fit, wanted to love them more than I actually did
Sennheiser HD 660’s - nice build, comfortable and airy sound, but too much middle, could do with some eq.
Beyerdynamic T1’s 3rd gen - not that much of an improvement on the second gen, not so keen of the design changes
Beyerdynamic Amiron Home - boring looks and sound, but then someone had just put the HD 800’s on my head for the first time
AKG k612pro - uninspiring build, but fine for the price point, nice neutral sound, ok for mastering, sold them after a few months, not a patch on the 1990’s

I Love all my HP's So I find it hard to Categorize them as it depends on genre etc,
( I will summarize each HP with 1 word and IMO ) But off the top of my head,:L3000:

Fostex TH900Mk2, Fast.
LCD-3f, Smooth.
Ether C flow, Neutral.
Kennerton Vali Oak V1, Exciting.
Kennerton Thridi Maple, Clear.
Ether-flow, Dark.
Astell&Kern T5Pmk2, Bassey
Pioneer Monitor-5, Warm.
Sony SA5000, Fun.

Just started into my Headphone journey. Nothing too fancy but enjoying the ride.

Flat EQ

1. AKG k340
2. Hifiman HE-400i
3. Sennheiser HD-598
4. HD 58x JUBILEE

EQ

1. AKG K340
2. Hifiman HE-400I'S
3. HD 58x JUBILEE
4. Sennheiser HD-598'S

The IMO under rated HD-598'S are definitely the most comfortable and easy to drive, great sound stage with very neutral sound . It's my choice when listening on my phone not running an amplifier or EQ. Very good efficient HP's.

Great list, we have similar gear and I just traded in my HE1000se's and a couple other headphones for a set of Hifiman HE-R10P's. Your top three is solid!

Thank you!

You have more gear than my local dealer.

I’m going to be on a quest now for a new dac and amp for the Susvara now.
