JH Audio Roxanne - smooth, detailed and musical.
Alpha Prime - still my favorite closed back headphone...
Sennheiser HD650
Audio Technica ATH AD-2700 - AD700 cups with AD2000 drivers. Really comfortable with incredible vocal presentation.
ZMF Ori - not my favorite but fun when I am in the mood. Easy on the ears...

1.) Beyerdynamic DT 480 - 200 Ohm(modded) - My most refined, clear, and articulate headphone, has this eerie realism and tactility to the sound. Best imaging and detail of all my headphones, currently tuned to be fairly dark sounding.
2.) Beyerdynamic DT 480 - 25 Ohm(modded) - Quite similar to the 200 Ohm, just a bit more mid-forward, slightly less resolving, and doesn't reach quite as deep in the bass.
3.) Beyerdynamic Amiron Home - Very smooth and doesn't really do anything wrong, quite laid-back. It just sounds right. Likes darker systems/tubes as it can be a tad bright in the upper treble on some set-ups.
4.) Sennheiser HD 600 - Like the Amiron doesn't really do anything wrong, more midrange focused than the Amiron but not quite as detailed or resolving could do with more bass-extension and a bit more overall energy, it's slightly on the dull-side.
5.) Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro - More resolving than the HD 600, but has some sharpness to the treble and the upper mids are just slightly off sounding. Punchy and dynamic, very musical and enjoyable with certain genres.
6.) AKG K612 Pro(Austrian) - Would be rated higher if it didn't have that bit of sharpness in the upper regions and a bit of a slight haze/lack of transparency in the midrange.

1. STAX SR-007A 2.9 (Blutak) - I have no desire to own or buy any other headphones, nuff said.

2. ATH AvA 500 - bought this just in case I have an issue with my 007, it's about what you would expect for 50 dollars or so.

For what it's worth I've owned quite a few headphones including:
SR-009S
L700
Sr404
He-6
He560
He400i
Monoprice M565
58x jubilee
Ad900x
Quad ERA1

Etc etc

(these old headphones aren't in any particular order, just for reference)

I like to keep an eye on the used market, two or three months into the launch, to gauge the % that are showing up.

There is a glut of Hugo 2 in a used market. I never heard them, but according to your theory, it seems there might be some reasons.
Also, I have a not-so-good memory with Hugo 1, which hit me when I resold it a while back..

Here is my ranking of my current lineup.

1. LCD 4Z
2. Noble Khan
3. Campfire Solaris
4. Focal Clear
5. LCD X
6. JH Roxanne
7. HD 6XX

I also saw some discussion about the Raal SR1A. I am trying to work out a way to pick one up they sound really good. I like my LCD 4Z a bit more but it is a different experience. If I had not just picked up the Khan I would have the Raals now. I need to save up now so I can pick up a pair of Magico Speakers either the S3mkII or more likely the A3.

Well, you do have to take into account the number of units sold, I’d dare say many more Hugo 2s have hit the market than, say Empyrean s. If there were a glut of the latter, then my hypothesis may be valid.

Okay, my frequently evolving headphone list, in its current rankings,

1) ZMF Vérité, the speed, resolution and macr/micro detail of the Utopia, with better bass, intonation, and headstage.

2) ZMF Aeolus, what the HD650 wants to be when it grows up.

3) HD650, debating selling them (for the third time)...

Gone: Abyss 1266 OG, Utopia, Clear, ZMF Autuer, and Ether 2.

I think people are selling hugo 2 to upgrade to the tt2. The tt2 just is a rare item right now. I picked up the hugo 2 because I got tired of waiting for my tt2 to come in. The dealer still has no word on when they will get their shipment. Thw did get my mscaler in only 2 weeks.

Maybe. But gumby and yggdrasil are also popular, but they are rarer in the classifieds. Also, they tend to be gone rather quickly.
At this moment, a few used hugo 2 are hanging around being unsold.

I have both, Hugo2 and Yggdrasil and for me the Yggdrasil is better. It sound more smooth, detailled and analogic compared to the Hugo2.
I compared both with 2 Utopia with the same Lazuli cable.

Chord has sold a lot of more Hugo2 than Schitt has built Yggdrasil. Normal that you find more Hugo2 on the sale.
