Yeah that's what i was planning on doing using my father's wood turning lathe. i'd just need to extend the driver-forward cup section by about 1/16th of an inch i believe.

When I washed my bowl pads with soap and water, it got rid of the wonderful Grado smell. :|

 
I don't seem to have that problem hehe

I've never used Birds Eye Maple before but I've always wanted to. I want to mix it with ebony, I think the contrast will look great. And it should sound great too, these are two of the worlds top tone-woods.
