Are these cups with 3.5mm connectors good for Grado MOD? The 3.5mm seems same as the one above.

3.5mm socket looks the same, except gold colored. Those cups and whole set looks really nice, but I would prefer more open mesh. I don't know if that mesh would actually affect to sound though.

Earphone DIY Labs has open mesh now (see this), looks very nice.

That tight mesh looked cool, but as the others noted, it would likely be an issue. Would be curious to hear for myself though. Also curious about how the all-metal cups sound. Only a couple of Grado models have ever been all metal (Joseph Grado's old HP series, and the extremely rare Grado PS-1).

Kudos to the seller for the new gimbal design, selling a complete headband assembly, and for the slip-ons. A little put off by their knocking off the branding on the slip-ons though. I'd personally sell them unbranded (no Allessandro engraving). I've personally made sleeves for folks who bought the slip-ons and haven't heard anything bad about them.

That looks really nice! I wonder how much different metal cups would sound compared to wood. Maybe slightly brighter. I actually chose SR225e over SR325e because I read that SR225e is less bright than SR325e due plastic cups. I always had an impression that Grados are generally quite bright, so I didn't want that even brighter option, but to my surprise SR225e had really balanced sound and not even close to overly bright as I had imagined. I'm so in love with my wood SR225e Grados that I even think that they're my end-game as full sized open headphones go. :)

Anyone have recommendations on where to get some mesh? I'm almost done with some cups... was gonna run to the dollar store and just start hacking up pencil cases

That's the best place to get it :)

Whew, finally done! Everybody's about xmas cookies these days - well, these are my frickin' cookies!

Each time I begin working on a batch of wood cups I don't expect so much hassle, struggle, time consumption and even pain.

But boy, oh boy, when I finally finish and watch oil drying on all of them I can't wait to start working on an another one!

Damn...

I know the work it takes to turn out a pair of cups on the lathe. If I am not mistaken brother, that represents roughly 36 hours of work (if things go smoothly...and they never do :D). Basically a week of turning, sanding, clipping, drilling, finishing and other fun and games. Well done!
