got bored today...

manage to fix a fried dt880 with spare grado rs1 drivers and do a detachable cable to it.

That's awesome! Over in the Ypsilon drivers thread someone just upgraded a pair of broken LCD with a pair of Ypsilon drivers and custom baffles. Looks awesome...

OK, thanks! That's kind of what I thought. I don't really care what colour they are. Taken a lot of Grado's apart.....I've never seen "Grado 32N's" before.

32 is the resistance, 32 Ohm. On older drivers, the 32 is followed by the Omega symbol (Ω). Maybe the N denotes New.

10 year old son's first pair of 'real' headphones.  Iron Man cups swapped out with SR60e.  Wife hates the sound leakage, but he says that the sound is much, much better than before - I agree.  May color the blocks and rods black and swap out the band with a leather one down the road.

Did you try asking the original owner?

A reverse image search lead me to the original owner on head-fi.

It's been so long ago but I think I put the aluminum gold colored cups in boiling water to soften the glue holding the plastic branding ring. I used a solvent such as acetone to remove the black paint from the round mesh.

hmmm... i'll give it another go. i put the cups in a steam bath but the rings didn't budge. maybe i'll do it a bit longer. any damage to the rings when you removed them?
