Victor d70 and technics eah-830
How did you acquire the D70? They are pretty pricey from what Ive seen. And how do you like it compared to your Sony electret?
It was a friend's second hand shop find in Japan, still not cheap though, it cost 8000 yen iirc. I still prefer ECR-500 with beyer pads, the Sony's imaging and laying is just too good. I honestly prefer it to CD3000 which is widely considered Sony's best headphones outside of super flagships like R10 or Qualia. How did you acquire the D70? They are pretty pricey from what Ive seen. Edit: should mention my CD3000 is silver plug, and if you had the chance to listen to CD1700, in terms of sound ECR500 is like a direct upgrade to that and solves most of its problem.

Great pics! YH1000 impressions or comparisons? Link to reddit impressions would be fine.

Cant unread this and it will always be at the back of my head , was just a simple happy 1700 owner until few seconds ago.It was a friend's second hand shop find in Japan, still not cheap though, it cost 8000 yen iirc. Ive heard that the Toshiba electrets are the best of the electrets. The Toshibas have a couple different models and show up on eBay often enough.Cant unread this and it will always be at the back of my head , was just a simple happy 1700 owner until few seconds ago.

mainly joking around, as GREQ hinted (I think?) cd1700 dont have problems, imo, limits is the word I would use.Ive heard that the Toshiba electrets are the best of the electrets. The Toshibas have a couple different models and show up on eBay often enough.

Looking at the prices of vintage headphones these days I honestly rather be out of the vintage game for now, happy with what i got, unless a trio kh92 pops up for a sane price
Count me in for a sanely priced KH-85 ^^mainly joking around, as GREQ hinted (I think?) cd1700 dont have problems, imo, limits is the word I would use.

the best are Sony's 600 and 800 which are considerably fragile, not to mention very rare.Ive heard that the Toshiba electrets are the best of the electrets.
electrets don't have low bass, most of them including Toshiba. and you can get ear fatigue after sometime even at moderate volume.

Might just be my pair but the soundstage and seperation on the CD1700 leaves a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to complicated electronic like artcore. What problems?
agree with the stupid vintage price on digital marketplace lolmainly joking around, as GREQ hinted (I think?) cd1700 dont have problems, imo, limits is the word I would use.
