I'm sorry if my question is too stupid but anyway. What typical symptoms does headphones show if its drivers or magnets was damaged? Channel imbalance or dead silent one or both channels , right?
Not stupid at all, since you'd likely get different symptoms with different drivers.
I had an SFI driver magnet that split in half. Measured resistance somehow was way over 1000 ohms, and still produced a TINY amount of volume.

Channel imbalance would be a good sign, as it means something is clamping the quieter driver, like a magnet fragment being attracted to another on the other side of the diaphragm.

GREQ, I freaked out damn hard after my YHD-2 fell on the floor from ~1.5m height due to my carelessness.
Simple listening to music doesn't reveal any flaws. Should I run some test tone signals through headphones?

I'd probably try to get my hands on (or borrow) a multimeter, and set it to 200 ohms max, and see if you get a sensible reading.
Touching the contacts on the plug should be enough, one on ground (closest to plastic sleeve), and the other alternating between the tip = left channel and the ring = right channel.
If you get around 125 ohms on the normal channel and no reading on the other, turn the knob to 2000 ohms setting and see if you get a reading then.

Running test tones or music through a potentially clamped driver is a bad idea, as the vibrations could permanently damage the diaphragm given enough amplitude and excursion, and a sharp enough piece of debris.

It's probably not appropriate thread to ask but can somebody give me recommendations on portable vintage headphones (on-ear or over-ear) that have the most similar sound to orthodynamic concept. I'm mostly familiar with yammies, willing to find substitute for outdoor use. Or maybe yammi actually can be used outdoors during cold seasons without fatal consequences?
Please, advise.

Hi guys.

One driver make the ZZzZZzZz sound then bass is playing...
There is some solution for this problem?
Could be dust. Blow it out gently. Could be a loose screw. Check and tighten them. Could be a loose wire vibrating. Open them up and make sure everything's nice inside. Somethings loose and shaking just got to figure out what it is.
