No real impressions yet, as I havent tuned them at all. It sounds quite bassy and muddy with no damping is all I have to say .
I never tried the Thunderpants with zero damping as mine had a glued on first layer and I didnt want to disrupt that.
Tuning will take some time as Im quite slow with these things and it depends when Im in the mood heh. I was just exited to post the pic as I finally got the headphone together.
 
Oh yeah, for those who can confirm, are the T50rp and T50rpn drivers identical if you have tried them with the same pads?

I think they would look even better with the frame anodized black, and swap the black leveling tabs with wooden ones. Oooh, ooh, also anodize some hexagonal perforated aluminum sheets for the grills while you're at it.

The headband and yokes are spring steel, you can't anodize steel.  He would have to have them powder coated.  Anodizing scratches very easily too, better off having the grills powder coated as well.

Actually depends on the grade or type of anodizing.  I would probably chemically polish the grills.  Powder coating might make the grills look too heavy.

awesome!  I love the bare metal look, not sure they could possibly look better.  The metal on the headband and gimble looks great, and black is nice for the grill because silver would pull attention away from the wood. 
 
Are these woodied original T50, or woody T50rp with a whole new enclosure and headband assembly?

True, there is hard anodizing, but shops that can do it properly are few and far in between and you only get one color choice, dark gray. 
 
Powder coating, if done properly, isn't heavy or goopy looking.  Kabeer's problem will be finding an outfit in the UK that would do it cheaply and toss the parts in with a standard lot run.  Most US shops have a minimum lot charge of at least $100, and then it's by the pound. 
 
There was a member here on H-F that I had exchanged PMs with regarding anodizing and new, more durable colored anodizing that was similar in durability to true hard anodizing, but all of my recent (within the last 6 months) PMs have gone unanswered, which is a shame because my company could really use his company's services if those new colored processes worked. 
 
EDIT:  Went back through my PMs and noticed the member is still active, or is active again, so I sent him another PM with details of what my company needs so we'll see if he responds...

Well I would have liked to make it black, but Im not gonna spend big bucks for a small cosmetic change when it looks allright as is . And re the grilles I havent even decided if im gonna use metal grilles or just black cloth there. ATM its going the direction of cloth.
 
Soundwise retaining bass isnt the problem at all, rather coming up with a damping scheme, The driver is v.bassy and needs taming.
And to answer rythmdevils im using T50RP drivers.

That headband looks like it's from a Pioneer SE-50 or something. If so, it looks far better there than it has ever done. Good work.

Cloth, hmm.  Aren't you concerned about the sonic and practical use compromises of using cloth?  Just asking.

I'm surprised they have so much bass with the open back.  Good to hear. 
 
What are the compromises of using cloth?  Unless they're going to be tossed in a bag and things might jam into the back of the drivers.  But these don't really seem portable
