Not that I know of, but I'd be interested if someone knew one.

This UK company sell Lear products:

http://www.custom-inearmonitors.co.uk/

The 4.2 is not listed on the website, but it may be possible to purchase it through them.  I've never bought anything from them, but I met Paul the owner at an audio trade show and he is a nice guy and very helpful.

Interesting, there is no dealer list on Lear website. Thanks for the info.

I am pleased that I have found this particular thread. However I am finding it hard to locate a thread that discusses the companies in particular and their customer service level and turnaround time also after sale service.

I am new to CIEM market and looking for the best quality sound (which you properly always see people asking about and perhaps you need more than one for the different genres) for a wide span of genres as possible, such as Uplifting Trance, Acoustic, classical, Jazz, Chillout and Movies. I have looked at JH Roxanne and like the look, the ability to add your artwork and see what it looks like before purchase on their website, and the youtube/review show them in high regard. However what is JH turnaround time in your experiences and their level of feedback. I have looked at all the treads that discusses about Roxanne owners being sold out for a newer flagship model and in part answering my own question in seeing a thread where consumers had to wait 6 months to receive their CIEM (Which I am not willing to do).

I never really buy on the cutting edge of technology, however I prefer to buy a product that has had a change to settle into the consumer market and had stood the test of time. But also love reading about a companies latest products.

I have a budget for the JH Roxanne, but cant afford Layla, however Angie being a new girl could also be worth waiting for.

I also looked at the Acrylic Noble Kaiser 10, Customart Harmony 8 Pro and the legend R EP-L8R Earerkz Pro respectively. They are roughly in the same price bracket (not counting the addition add-ons), however the sites only have a few selected options when purchasing and some don't have the ability of adding custom artwork and viewing it before buying, (do some companies complete this after purchase or once they have received your impressions?) If they do and I have missed something then apologies.

I live in the Channel Islands and have sent off relevant emails (awaiting replies) about shipping etc, however does anyone have any issues with parcels being stopped by customs when ordering outside of USA? I may have to ask them directly.

In respect of the impressions, I prefer to have my teeth slightly apart and aligned and I will walk around when listening. I have received a page from JH recommending me to have the foam grip in-between my teeth. However not sure if this is wise.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to your views

Hi

Welcome to headfi.  If you are interested in any particular company then it might be best to search the forum itself for the relevant thread.  If you are in the Channel Islands can I suggest you also add Cosmic Ears to the list to have a look at?  As they are now based in the uk turnaround times will be a lot quicker, as will communications etc.  That said Custom-art has been great in terms of communication and turn around as well.

Good luck!

Check out "The Wizard Returns" thread for Noble Audio and you'll find that the owners communicate regularly with Head-fiers on this thread.  In fact they are great for that.  You can also pm the owners from this thread and ask very specific questions about what you are looking for, and they respond very quickly.  Their customer service is top notch, in my opinion.  BTW, the K10's are awesome.

My advice is to figure out what type of sound signature you want first of all.  There is no point buying a CIEM just because it's considered top of the line, only to find the sound doesn't suit your preference.  For example, I have demoed the JH Audio range and none of them were to my taste.

In terms of customer service, I have found that Custom Art, EarWerkz and Noble Audio are all very good at replying to customers.

Yes you need to know what sound you want. Neutral, warm, bassy, natural, etc. Then I think artwork is really secondary. Key aspects are, IMO and in that order, SQ, build quality and service. Most of the ones you mention are good in all these aspects but sound very different from what I know.

Especially when buying customs from around the world, I would personally put customer service at least on par with build quality. It has certainly made me blacklist at least one popular company.

Same here!  And customer service is extremely helpful when you are shopping and have questions that you can have answered by the owners themselves!

Thanks very much all for your comments, I have been in contact with jack at EarWerkz on looking at the legend R and his service is brilliant, very fast replies, and if I change my mind on a finish I can ask to change, were other companies its final at purchase. Its also great that I am in communication with the maker of the CIEM too.
