Well thanks for all the replies ..it seems there is a lot of love for the RS2X , but not much mention of either the GS1000X or RS1X I guess the laws of hifi diminishing returns comes into play at the RS2X level upwards … so that maybe the one to get as I am a great believer in the sweet spot as regards VFM …

The RS1-X is a fantastic headphone well worth a listen and it has bigger driver than the RS2x and also has cocobolo, hemp and maple woodWell thanks for all the replies ..it seems there is a lot of love for the RS2X , but not much mention of either the GS1000X or RS1X I guess the laws of hifi diminishing returns comes into play at the RS2X level upwards … so that maybe the one to get as I am a great believer in the sweet spot as regards VFM …

So, after getting the GH2 a couple of nights ago, I got a GH4 tonight.
Curious to know your impressions and comparison, as it's been forever since I've heard a GH2.
In other news, finally sold my Hemp last night after several weeks on the market. The darker muddier sound signature just wasn't for me. Hope the new owner enjoys it!

Congrats on the sale! I tried for weeks, but still have mine. Hopefully I can move them as we get closer to Christmas.Curious to know your impressions and comparison, as it's been forever since I've heard a GH2.

Rich Grado confirmed in email today that there will not be a PS500x. Those 5 available PS500e with X-series drivers installed was as close as youre going to see.
I followed up by asking what gets closest to PS500e’s sound that is available now or soon. I specifically likened PS500e to a bassier RS2e/x as example. Will update with response.

They like many Grados do break in over time as you accrue playtime. For me with the RS2x that was over 100 hours. The RS2x responds well to both EQ and pad rolling so I use them for all genres of music

Tick tock…..I'm about there now
Make sure the headband fits as good as possible, a little adjustment can make a big difference.
That's why I like the Nyczaj pads , less sensitive to positive and you can at least move your head without affecting soundTick tock…..

I have a friend who has one of those 5. I have yet to hear it. He says it fingerprints like crazy though, so there is that.Rich Grado confirmed in email today that there will not be a PS500x. Those 5 available PS500e with X-series drivers installed was as close as youre going to see.

When I demoed the entire X-series line (minus the SR125x) at Toronto Audiofest last year, the GS3000x stood out due to how much midbass impact it had. Significantly more than anything else in the X lineup, and it's the only one with metal, so that's probably your best shot. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go to TAF this year, which was actually just last weekend.
However, I wasn't a fan of the X-series sound signature overall when compared against the E-series, other than the GS1000x, which to me was a "fixed" GS2000e as that one to me was a huge miss. (I mained the GS2000e for about 2 years, too, until the GS3000e came along!) Bought my GH4 immediately after TAF knowing it was the last great headphone of the E-series era.

So interesting how our tastes are different...
I love the RS2x, has good bass (but lite compared to SR325x).
Hated the RS2e... Screaming ear piercing banshee with no bass.
Love the all-rounder SR325x, so much better than the SR325e..
I've said this before, but the SR225e and SR60e were my favorites of the "e" series.
