I couldn't get on with the bass on the 325x, sounding muddy to me, the RS2x solved it for me

They like many Grados do break in over time as you accrue playtime. For me with the RS2x that was over 100 hours.

what would you say is the biggest improvement after break in time ?

With Grados, the improvements include: more linear frequency response, reduction / elimination of ‘hardness’, extension of bass response, clearer placement of instruments & voices in soundstage.what would you say is the biggest improvement after break in time ?
Many thanks …all the good stuff then !..With Grados, the improvements include: more linear frequency response, reduction / elimination of ‘hardness’, extension of bass response, clearer placement of instruments & voices in soundstage.

So glad to hear of a little love for the GS2ke (never heard the 3000x). While they do not appear generally appreciated, I like them a lot especially when they are added a bit of bass (Xbass on ifi iCAN)I prefer the GS2000e to the GS3000x! More spacious, brighter, more exciting (but I still Love the GS3000x sound!)

Yeah, but every Grado sounds better with a bit of bass boost. So glad to hear of a little love for the GS2ke (never heard the 3000x). While they do not appear generally appreciated, I like them a lot especially when they are added a bit of bass (Xbass on ifi iCAN)

SR325x doesn't really need bass boost with a good ampYeah, but every Grado sounds better with a bit of bass boost.

I do love my Grado's with a nice, warm amp like my Violectric. But it is still fun to hook them up to the iFi and administer a touch of bass boost.SR325x doesn't really need bass boost with a good amp

I have never felt the need to pull down the treble on a Grado. Although maybe I would have on the SR325e's, back a few years....and quite a few sound better with some treble reduction... (...oof...JerseyD runs and ducks for cover...)
Sometimes they can get a bit piercing on some hot horn work, but it's not unbearable.

FWIW: While I do know that EQ may not appeal to all, I do experience that you can tighten the bass and dampen the highs with for example the ifi xbass very much to your (and especially my) liking PPS not that I use EQ much thoughI have never felt the need to pull down the treble on a Grado. Although maybe I would have on the SR325e's, back a few years.

My order for the Drop Violectric will be shipping in a few weeks (I hope). Looking forward to the 3000x/222 combo...I do love my Grado's with a nice, warm amp like my Violectric. But it is still fun to hook them up to the iFi and administer a touch of bass boost.

Unfortunately my Violectric V220 left my home today. It is making its way home to "The Motherland". Luckily it is going to be covered under warranty. Shipping was a Bitch! My order for the Drop Violectric will be shipping in a few weeks (I hope). Looking forward to the 3000x/222 combo...
