Oh yes for Bluetooth. I see. Yes Apple is behind the times with bluetooth and audio codecs.
I do not own a T1 or any Hifimans but that was my ideaSo you can use cables of the T1 or some of the Hifimans?
On the X series cables the 4 blue cores/cables are run from the 6.5mm standard plug to the Y on the cable in there they are all connected together. Why blue cables need to split?
Ya kidding, right?!…

Yep that is what I found out when I cut the 6.5mm plug off a 325x to fit a XlrYa kidding, right?!
I‘m using flac 24/96-192 on iPhones for about 8 Years.Ahh another thing.. I read on here a few days ago that iOS only uses aac. Which is simply not true for nearly two years.. Apple has introduced lossless and 24-bit/192 mode on all of their music in Apple Music. There are also many other apps that can pull off lossless and high-res using iOS. Though I do think really even aac is good enough and very good sounding. If you want to kick it up a little notch then try lossless on iOS. You may like it if you have the bandwidth and a proper data cap.
Anybody spend the extra 170,- in a balanced cable?Yep that is what I found out when I cut the 6.5mm plug off a 325x to fit a Xlr
With a multimeter I could not separate the blues they all showed a dead short to each other when belled out.
Where as the reds and the white you could bell them out individually from the plug end to the driver
The way Grado designed the 6.5mm standard is excellent as it uses separate core but keep true to SE.Anybody spend the extra 170,- in a balanced cable?
Maybe measure pin 2 against 4?
I do just fine on the lightning adapter on 16bit 44.1 kHz. No sense in going further for me as I use red book compact discs as my reference.I‘m using flac 24/96-192 on iPhones for about 8 Years.
There is no limitation to 16 bit or 48 kHz in (intel’s) Lightning or iOS and never was.
Only their ‘Music‘ player, the thing in iTunes didn‘t work with it.
Put Onkyo, Hibiki, or one of the gazillion other to the phone add a Mojo2, xDSD Gryphon, Q3, Chronos, M12, ... and enjoy your music.
(If 96 kHz is enough and ESS sound signature is no issue, give the Dragonfly Red or Qudelix (love the app) a try)
But yes, in Bluetooth I really miss aptX LL.
With a well-engineered DAC, especially the R2R type, and a robust CD transport, there is musically plausible sound to be had from the 16/44.1 disc !!I do just fine on the lightning adapter on 16bit 44.1 kHz. No sense in going further for me as I use red book compact discs as my reference.
Can’t beat the selection either. I need to look into a R2R DAC. And explore price points. A friend of mine from California who is like an independent audio repair/used to be dealer, has an extra Jolida tube headphone amp for a good price. He says he will ship it out to me for free to see if I like it, I’ve talked with him off and on for 20 years so he trusts me. Be assured this is the exact same amp I showed you by Black Ice Audio. I will report my findings with it.With a well-engineered DAC, especially the R2R type, and a robust transport, there is musically plausible sound to be had from the 16/44.1 disc !!
I’ll say it here (again): Let’s have an RS1x, obviously with the x-driver, which features an all-cocobolo wood housing. An ‘updated’ GH2, if you will. Please?Nothing on the horizon that has been mentioned out loud. John is always looking forward for the next up . I would think that the x Series has lots more good mileage and life left and it has been very popular. As John seeks out the next approach to performance. The PS2000e was designed & done over the course of almost two years.
Perhaps you should reconsider …The rs1x usually looks pretty ugly with that naked hemp wood behind the cocobolo in pictures. At least I think so. Maybe it looks better in person?
