You know, I don't think I've ever seen a comparison of all the GH headphones, probably because nobody owns all of them.
I would suggest to anyone who attempts this enterprise...to skip the GH3.

This model is so meh that I even forgot I owned it once.

It is not a beautiful model (compared to the GH1, GH2, GH4 or the Hemp) and it sounds like it belongs to the Prestige series. My SR225i (in wood cups) sounded better. It did cost a lot less than the other GH models, so it did have that going for it. If the GH3 was still available, I would pick that one over the SR325 or any of the SR models.

I have all of them. The GH1 stacks up very well against any other on ear model. It's great.

For sound I'd go GH4 > GH2 > GH1. But we're talking most excellent > super excellent > very excellent here. GH1 and 2 are a little more airy and sparkly, GH4 more balanced and neutral (closer to the e series).

For aesthetics it's GH2 > GH1 > GH4.

GH3 is just a fancier looking Prestige series that doesn't belong in the same conversation.

Edit: I'm also way too lazy to write up extensive comparative essays about Grados. 😊 I like their sound; I hate their cables; and they scratch that "collecting stuff" itch.

Nice! Thank you very much for that.

You own all of them now? :astonished:

You've gone off the Grado deep end. :yum:

The pandemic was hard on all of us. Some people started working out more; some people started reading more; or gardening. I bought Grados.

someone who can give me a hand, I read in the last pages of the Beautiful Audio pads, I wanted to go for an order and I saw that there are two sizes, small and large, they are not cheap 115-145$, with shipping and customs fees I also reach 200€ in Europe, so I would like to know if you have any idea of the differences in sound, I have gh2 and gs2000e, I use a Sparkos Aries which is an extraordinary amp with Grado.

I’ve had my RS1x for five days now. I’ve logged about 18 hours on them. Wow, are they dreadful!

I love, as I have stated many times, my SR325e. I have often described them as beautifully flawed. I think the larger question is how can another Grado headphone that costs 2 1/2 times as much and has an “upgraded“ driver sound so much worse?

The RS1x is shouty, congested, and has the timbre of a rusty razor scraping against a tin can.

I bought them from Crutchfield with the intention of trying them for the full 60-day return period. Not going to make it.

Has your collection grown or has it stayed the same? Hopefully, it did not shrink.

I think you would need both. You use the small one on the GH2's. Apparently the large is based on the G-Cush, which I believe your GS2000e's came with. Upside is that there would be no extra charge for shipping, I don't think.
I remember quite a while ago a guy bought a set of the small's and they wouldn't fit on his (I think) GS3000e's.

They are AWESOME on the GH2's. I bought the regular hybrids.

Since taking that picture, I have added the PS2000e, the GS2000e, the Hemp, the GR8e (IEM), and the GH-2. I have not yet bought any of the -x series.

If you get an opportunity to hear a broken in GS3000x it may just end up in your collection. A good place for you to sample an x series. Very natural and airy sound. I very much like my GS3000e but the GS3000x has been so enjoyable that I may well sell the e version.

It looks like you will still have space enough to fit some new editions.

Guys, I've been reading about 100 pages on this forum. I have a quick question.

If I liked sr80x so much and want little more clarity and similar bass, should I buy rs2x? My shop guy told me rs1x is better in many ways but what I see is 1x is slightly lack of bass compare to 2x and the treble is a bit thin?

I mostly listen to piano/clarinet concertos and Fink.
