Sadly I don't live anywhere close to somewhere that i could try out any headphones closest place would be about 2 hours away. And as i dont have a car its almost impossible to get there XD
 
Sorry i don't really know how to describe what im wanting well im a complete noob when it comes to this stuff. The headphones i've been seeing everyone recommend are
 
Panasonic htf600 (I have heard these can be quite bass heavy so i dont know how much I would like them)
 
superlux 668b/samson sr850
JVC harx700/900
superlux 681
 
As you can tell I am looking for mostly over ear headphones so i would like that. 
 

I think the 668Bs are an excellent fit for your needs, as long as you can find them in your price range.

By all accounts, Macbooks have pretty good audio hardware, so you might be better off putting the money towards an upgrade of your headphones.

I think you can find detailed info on that in ljokerl's portables thread, as I think he's reviewed both. Off the top of my head, the P5s isolate superbly, even though they're supra-aural.

Okay so, I got my ATH-M50's and they're solid for music, not worthy of their crazy hype, but definetely keepers. I've found that in games though my HARX-900 can outperform them, so I want something in the $100-150 range (slightly above is fine) that can destroy my HARX900s for games but they don't have to be particularly good for music.
 
I was thinking that the Sennheiser 558 might be good for gaming/epic war movies and things like that. I heard that it's not as good as the 595s though, so maybe I should get 555s and do the 595 mod on them? I'm not sure. Suggestions?

I've actually heard the 558s are better than the 595s, and they're actually cheaper than the 555s atm.

I'm planning on an upgrade. Just wanted to know what headphones have the biggest sound stage and best instrument separation at the 300 - 400 price range. I'm looking to try an open headphone and right now I have the m50's paired with the fiio e7/9.

I notice a slight but still noticeable difference when I pair my m50's with the e7/9 with my mac.

In terms of the Music I listen to, I would say it's about 55% Hip-Hop/R'n'B, 15% Soul, and the other 30% comprises of some other genres like electronic music, rock, pop and so on. Also, I'm gonna be using them with my phone on the go but I have a Mini^3 amp that I'm using right now with my TMA-1's
I've already made my headphone amp so price isn't too much of an issue, definitely something under $1000 though (so it comes down to under £600 for me ) In terms of the sound, I'd kinda prefer something that's not too dark, and that's good in the whole spectrum (going from bass to treble)

Which do you think is the better of the two?
I listen to mostly hip hop, but im not looking for a bass heavy can.

Perhaps the D5000s will do well with your bass-heavy genres.

Umm, what's the question? The main thing about the Beats Pro is that they're mostly just overpriced, and the build is questionable, given the record of the other Beats models. For style, maybe those new models in Jude's CES interviews could help, as well as some V-Modas like the M80s or the M100s, when they come out. The M50s sound pretty good for the price, but look a bit awkward when worn. For more bass, though, I've heard the new V-Moda LP2s have fixed the muddiness, but are still bass-heavy.

 
Do you have a link to Jude's interviews? I don't think I have watched them all. Philips Fidelio, Parrot Zik, Amperior... any more he has covered? I've been over at Innerfidelity and reading about new cans from CES as well. Unfortunately I can't listen to any V-Modas before buying them here in Sweden. I think I am getting the TMA-1's with a remote and mic and then keeping an eye out for a sub USD 250 pair of Beats Pro showing up. Nad then waiting for a chance to try the Fidelios and Zik. Just making a plan for future headphones . What do you guys think of the TMA-1's for some singer-/songwriter and classical music?

- enough detail and seperation
 
Should be less than 300€ and should sound good without any amlification.
