What would be the best choice from these:

HD201
HD202
HD205 MK-II
CX300-II Precision
UE100
UE200
UE350
Koss UR40T
Koss The Plug

I'm looking for a neutral signature, durability and isolation.

Thanks. :)

I've been looking around the net and the general consensus seems to be that the HD201 is pretty bad, any idea why that is?

Till now I thought the HD205 was the best.

Btw haven't heard of those Chinese brands. :p

What would you guy's recommend for $200 or under for this type of music:

I will be using them with a Asus Xonar DG so they must be able to be driving by it. If possible I would also like a headphone that is good for positional audio in gaming such as competitive Counter Strike. Thank you in advance this forum is a life-saver for a headphone newb such as myself. Cheers!

EDIT: Also for a bit more of info on what I'm looking for. I will be using these headphones in a room by myself. I'm not looking to travel with them but I would like them to be able to be worn for extended periods of time. Look doesn't really matter to me. Also open or close I have no pref. Easily driveable cans are also a plus. Thanks again!

Anyone? I need to make a choice soon so I can buy them. Thank you!

Okay I decided to buy online instead of buying from a store and I thought I'd ask for a recommendation again since I have much more options now.

I can spend up to $62 and am looking for either over ear headphones or IEMs with as neutral a signature as possible. I'm looking for durability, sound quality and comfort.

Till now, I had my mind set on the Koss UR40s, but is there anything better for my budget?

I really appreciate the help. I'm a total newbie to all this. Thanks. :)

New Head-Fi'er here. I'm looking for a good around the ear headphone for indie rock, acoustic rock, classic rock, classic, jazz, blues. I mostly stay away from rap, and electronic. I will be using these at first with my Xonar STX, and then eventually possibly a desktop and/or portable amp.    Build quality is a essential. I'm not a "basshead" but a good bottom end is essential. My budget is <$500 for the phones.

I'm currently considering HiFiMan HE-400's, or possibly DT990's. What else can you recommend for me?

Thanks in advance!

I just got the HE-500s and they're amazing.  I've never heard the HE-400s, but my understanding is that they're a little bassier.  You might also want to listen to the HD650 to see if the midbass hump is the sweet spot for you bass-wise.

Got my ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card
Got my Beyerdynamic Pro DT 770 (250ohm) headphones

Is there specific settings I should enable? Or just plug the headphones in and listen?

Can someone with the sound card+beyerdynamic headphones let me know any tweaking?

Thanks!

You can always upgrade the OPAMPs.  Also, not too terribly sure about its built in "headphone amp."  The Beyer isn't exactly an easy phone to drive.  I heard one on a guy's FIIO E7 and it wasn't nearly enough to power it.  Anyway, a dedicated headphone amp would probably be a good idea.

How would I go about upgraded the "OPAMP" - I don't really know much about this type of stuff heh.
