I would leave the sound quality aside. SPKM sounds wonderful, though there are DAPs some people like more. My point is more practical:
- SPKM is from an older generation of DAPs. There has been some updates since then, like wireless DAC technology exists even with most recent entry level players. SPK does not have that. For portable use cases like watching something from your mobile through your DAP wirelessly I find it a very useful feature.
- M11, for example from FiiO, has a much better CPU/SoC. That would help with having additional DSP features. Also helps with the slow Android UI. Using Qobuz, for example, on SPKM was pretty slow. At least I wasn't happy with it.
- The side buttons are a problem on SPKM. Very small and close to each other.
Otherwise SPkM is a great sounding DAP. For my use cases wasn't just there.
Thanks. Price also an issue for me tbh, but no pricing info available yet for the dx220. Definitely interested in pricing and timing for availability.
