Apple Lossless for my Mac and a mix of 128/160/192 vbr AAC for my iPod.

If you are getting a 60 GB iPod than definatley rip no less than 192 vbr aac IMO. Thats just too much space to fill if you were to rip at 128. It would take you YEARS. On a personal note, I use 128 aac vbr for my 30GB ipod. When I'm out I can't tell the difference. When I am home I just listen...

I own the px-100 and just recently bought the ksc 75's and... IMO the ksc 75's sound *slightly* better than the 100's. Bear in mind that the 100's are completely burned in (been my only phone for months) and the 75's not yet. This kinda got on my nerves though, since I paid $25 for the 100's...

I've tried a Jenson, a Maxell, and a Sony one. The Sony sounded WAY better out of all 3.

I use 128 AAC VBR as well. For some LIVE stuff though, I use 160 VBR. I CAN tell a difference between 128 and a CD, its just, to me 128 aac vbr sounds GOOD ENOUGH for on the go. Besides if I want lossless I'll bust out my cd player .

I like the hje50's, but if i were you i'd get the senns. Everybody has nothing but good things to say about them and they have a 2 year warranty AND are less than 100 dollars.

I'd replace the sony option with the panny hje50 instead. Can be had for same price and sound better/last longer IMO. I've owned the sonys and they are GARBAGE.

It only "Improves Quality" by giving a slightly higher bitrate for a complex part of a song and less bitrate for not-so complex parts (silence for instance). I use it and think its better than cbr stuff. I just like the fact that if im listenin to 5 seconds of silence on a song i know its not...
