    Best amp for K701?

I recently got a K701, and I must say I really like it with my Corda HA-2; the Aria and HeadFive presumably will be even better. With my EarMax Pro, however, it's a different story; I'd stay away from the K701 + EMP combo.

Shure E4c... improving sound with more use?

One day I found myself wondering at how extended the bass was, and its level, contrary to my memories of it at first. This is with the same tips, amp, player, evertything.

    Just got my shure e4c's....impressions

I got the E4 a couple months ago, and use it from a Meier Porta Corda MkIII and an iPod Mini. Overall opinion is mostly the standard "like them" opinion: really nice mids and details, with rolled off highs. The bass quantity could be a bit more, but actually, if I had to choose between having...

    ATTN: all DT880 owners!!

NAD C542, going to an EarMax Pro. Love it, have not wished for anything else since. I had a Meier Corda HA-2 before that. It was not at all bad, but I felt the mids were missing something; and, comparing it to the EMP, the HA-2 has a slight hump in the lower mids. (I read some review somewhere...

    iPod Mini --> ??? ---> Shure E4c

I've never compared to other portable amps, but FWIW, I have a Porta Corda MkIII USB right in the spot you're looking to fit, and I'm happy. The fact that it has crossfeed and USB in is totally decisive for me. Do absolutely make sure you get a line out for the iPod.

    Beyer DT-880 v DT-250/250

You don't just gain portability; the DT250-250 is closed. If you're going to be using them in a noisy environment, this is an essential feature. I have both. When it comes to sound quality, it's no contest at all: DT880. But if sound quality is your more important criterion, there's open cans...

    "World Music" recommendations, anyone?

Here's a few I haven't seen mentioned:Caetano Veloso — Transa. Caetano Veloso is of course one of Brazil's most famous and popular musicians, and this one is my favorite album of his. Trio Mocotó — Samba Rock. Not really rock, but this is one hell of a groovy album. (Beware: their recently...

    Finally my DT 250-250 impressions

Does anybody know the burn-in period and behavior of the DT250-250? I got a pair recently for the office, and I'm finding them a bit treble-heavy and bass-shy, which doesn't quite match with the descriptions I hear. (The treble's not harsh, though; it's just that the balance isn't quite right...)

    Buying DT880s, questions...

I bought my DT880 from B&H. I've also bought photography equipment and supplies from them many times. They're a good retailer, but yes, remember the return policy.

What flash player for bike rider?

I'm gonna rant now, but I'm very wary of cyclists who see themselves in the model of recreational runners or walkers, and therefore, conclude that just like those people do, cyclists should also wear headphones. Personally, I'd rather prefer you not listen to music (or otherwise impair your...

    Amp recommendation for DT-880s

There's two "teams" when it comes to amps for the 880: (a) people who are happy with their sound out of solid-state amps, and (b) people who really think they should be used with tubes. I'm yet another of those EarMax (Pro) + DT880 people, FWIW. I had a Meier Corda HA-2 before that, and I...

    Synergy with a Dynahi: DT-880 or HD650?

You might be putting the cart before the horse. I think the most productive way to go about this is first to decide on one of the headphones, and only after that, decide on a synergistic amp.

    HD-650 V.S. E4C ?!? Help!

You know, choosing between one high-end full-size open headphone and an in-ear monitor is a pretty weird choice. There's some really simple criteria that would clinch the decision: (a) do you want or need the isolation and portability that the Shure provides? or, (b) do you prefer the comfort of...
