Anyone using a new Zen?
My recommendation? Buy a 32gb iPod touch.. Great SQ and when jailbroken a plethora of features. The internet browser rocks too. Oh and video looks great. I know I sound like a tool pushing another Apple product but seriously, the touch has everything (except a cheap price for decent...- bluey_02

Those who waiting Xin amp, post and get your date of arrival !
Whoa, whoa hey now, there was a point where I thought that (due to others' testimonials) where I thought the amp would take four months at the most.. I do agree, a year is ridiculous, but I haven't exactly been checking my email every week for that invoice. It's a nice little surprise to say...- bluey_02

Sydney Head-Fi Mini-Meet: Portable Amps and ICs
Yeah I thought the t-shirt was a good choice for the meet. Man, do I always smile like a jackass? Impressions: The amps (SR71, Tomahawk and Hornet 'M') I tried out with my SE420's didn't seem to make much of a difference to me. When I put on David's SE530's connected to one of the RSA amps...- bluey_02

Well, I'm closing 9 months. Abso-*****in-lutely ridiculous (counting the fact he ignores my emails) but knowing that others are waiting as long as I have is more assuring than thinking Xin had forgotten all about my SMicro IV order.. thanks I guess. P.S. 222 pages? Holy crap..someone should...- bluey_02

Are portable amps really worth it?
Wow thanks for the helpful responses. From reading all this, I may just go for a cheaper amp like the mini-E or the P2 and see what difference that makes (I alread own a decent LOD). Unfortunately I live in Sydney, Australia so I don't think there will be many head-fiers around, of course if you...- bluey_02

Are portable amps really worth it?
I guess that's your opinion but why can't the sound coming out of Shure IEM's be improved through amping?- bluey_02

Are portable amps really worth it?
I know it's hard to quantify an improvement in sound from moving to a portable amp but could anyone give me some sort of percentage indicating the increase in sound quality? Of course you everything has to have stayed the same before and after the adding of an amp, hell, as you read this try...- bluey_02

Verdict on SE420's
Got them in the mail the other day. In a word they are awesome! I love how balanced they sound, I won't pretend I know what highs and lows are but they are perfect for my 320kpbs mp3 and ALAC files. The bass isn't overpowering of the other details and I can hear instruments I never could before...- bluey_02

Ipod headphone jack
I've had the same problem with my nano but the nano itself is fine, My headphone jacks seem to slowly lose the left channel if I continually apply pressure to the plug, it seems to wear away the gold plating on the left channel ring on the plug. Dunno if that helped in any way, shape or form.- bluey_02

My iPod nano is destroying my headphones!
I have a nano 2G and I used to use Grado SR80's which were recabled and the plug a right-angled Neutrik one. I switched to Koss ksc-75's and everything was great for a few months but recently the left channel has stopped working. I look at the plug and I see the gold plating has been rubbed off...- bluey_02

E4C's for 34USD?

E4C's for 34USD?
Ok thanks for that, in reading your replies I checked the earphones in the Ebay listing against various photos of the E4C through Google, finding that the SHURE branding in the earphones was not the right way...bad news, right? Wrong, I went to the Shure website and while the White model would...- bluey_02

E4C's for 34USD?
Hey guys I have found some E4C's for the amazing price of $34. I'm tossing up whether to buy them or just wait till I have the odd $150 for the updated SE420. I guess what I'm asking here are they worth buying (for someone who doesn't have much money), even though they're an outdated model?- bluey_02

Safe listening levels on an Ipod???
Yeah a good indication your music is too loud is when your ears start bleeding.. But seriously, I personally try to lower the volume so that I can hear all noises around me (I use clip-ons). If you listen to music at any level for a long enough time you will damage your ears. If you look hard...- bluey_02
