SE846 owner - wondering what my options are
hi - i've had my Shure SE846 for about three years, and while i still enjoy them, i can't help but wonder if there's something else out there that's better, at a fraction of what i paid. if there are better options around $200-300, would it be possible to sell the 846 for $500 or $600, pocket...- frescagod

Schiit Fulla 2 Impressions Thread
also, not that i bought the F2 to use with my SE846, but if anyone out there was thinking of using them at their desk with this, forget about it. volume comes in in the left channel up until about 50% volume, and a tick higher than that is uncomfortably loud for home listening. i'm still on...- frescagod

Schiit Fulla 2 Impressions Thread
question: i have this Aukey quickcharge external battery pack which supposedly puts out 2.4A. if i connect it to the fulla 2, then connect to my computer via USB, the sound plays just fine. however, if i connect it to my phone (Galaxy S7), it lets me switch to USB audio out, but it sounds like a...- frescagod

Schiit Fulla 2 Impressions Thread
i purchased on saturday, and my Fulla 2 arrived this evening. this is my first Schiit product, and i have to admit that i was nervous based on some of the reviews here. my initial review: after about two hours, i am mostly happy with it. the volume knob is more or less even, and there isn't...- frescagod

After several years of the Audio Technica ATH-AD700, I snagged the HD600 today.
many people have said to go the moda/magni route, but there are some people who say that it isn't a great pairing with the 600. at this point i think for $200 for both the DAC and amp, i'm willing to bite. my biggest issue is that at lower volume levels, (2/10 through 4/10), the...- frescagod

After several years of the Audio Technica ATH-AD700, I snagged the HD600 today.
as a little background, i have decently musically trained ears, and as someone who is constantly commuting, i have come up the Shure earphone line (e2c > e3c> e4 > e500 > se530 > se846). the ATs were my first and only open-aire phones; i previously owned some HD280s and M50x, but sold them off...- frescagod

closed, full size equivalent to the Shure SE846 for less than $200?
i have swapped filters out a few times - the whites, while way more revealing, are somewhat harsh to my ears. i went back to the stock blues and i do love them. if i listen to them for more than half an hour, my ears adjust and i don't really notice the treble roll off until i go back to the...- frescagod

closed, full size equivalent to the Shure SE846 for less than $200?
i'm consolidating my gear and i was wondering if you kind folks have any suggestions on a sub-$200, full sized, closed headphone that has a similar sound signature to the Shure SE846. the reason i'm asking is because i listen to my Audio Technica ATH-AD700 for much of the day during the week...- frescagod

my Shure e500 return
i got my replacement earphones yesterday (took them 2 weeks!) but they finally got here. the thing is, they are e500s, and they look and feel exactly the same as my original ones from november 2006. my question is- are the cables really made of a different material this time around? i'll...- frescagod

my Shure e500 return
they've been sitting at Shure's service department for like 2 weeks now and I haven't received my replacements (9 months in, cable split like everyone else's has or will)..... i HATE being without them. i'm thinking of buying some e2's to use specifically when the new e500s/se530s break again...- frescagod

Shure build quality
hey guess what? i went to put on my earphones on my way home from work today, and the left cable is cracked 3/4 the way through. anyway, 50-75%, whatever %, it seems like many people end up dealing with Shure's customer service at least once. This will be the 3rd time on a 3rd separate Shure...- frescagod

It seems like anywhere from 50% to up to 75% of people who have purchased Shure earphones have had to return them at some point within the warranty period. I applaud their customer service, as I have returned e2 and e3 earphones in the past, but don't you think they'd be better off actually...- frescagod

Shure E500/E530 Cable Poll
9 months for me....the cable has sort of taken on a memory cable status, in that it is curled where it goes around my ear. i listen to them every day to and from work, and on airplanes, etc. considering dropping the UE-10 bomb though.....- frescagod

do you pair your shure e500/se530 with an amp?
if so, which do you recommend? i'm considering buying a portable amp for mine, but some people say the difference is negligible anyway, so is it even worth it? thanks.- frescagod

What IEM is closest to a Ety ER-4 but with deep bass?
as stated before, this guy is looking for an IEM in an on-stage performing application, not sitting on a train trying to hear victor wooten fart. honestly, the old shure e5 has emphasized bass and is still detailed everywhere, albeit with the slightly rolled off treble (bigtime if you compare to...- frescagod

Crappy Shure Zip Cases
the zipper on my e500 case was also a bit tricky to maneuver. however, i found that if i tug gently outward while zipping, it goes fine. i hope that makes sense, but it does get stuck if i'm only pulling in the one direction or the other without pulling out on the zipper a bit.- frescagod

Shure E500
guys, if you gently twist back and forth, you won't be snapping the nozzles off. think about it....it's PLASTIC. in between your meaty grubby paws, plastic will break. it doesn't matter what "grade" it is. it's a 1/8" piece of plastic. maybe Shure should have included instructions on taking off...- frescagod
